GTA:IV preorders, shipping, shop dates, times etc

Anyone here pre-order from Tesco? (I have, and what a mistake! Never again... read on to find out why!!)

Well if so, don't expect to get your game tomorrow, just found out after a lengthy phone call and nearly a shouting match (while i'm at work) that its doesn't actually get dispatched until tomorrow!!! I am cancelling my pre-ordering and hunting a copy down at midnight tonight!!

Even tho their website states "Pre order now for delivery on date of release", it doesn't actually mean this, what it actually means is "This product has not yet been released for sale. You can order this product now and we will dispatch it on the suppliers release date", so i rang to check they weren't having some kind of laugh with this line, and i can asure you they are not... they said "it is dispatched tomorrow (29th) so you should expect to recieve it either on Wednesday (30th) or Thursday (1st)". I mean WTF, whats the point in pre-ordering then?

Surely they can not get away with saying "Pre order now for delivery on date of release", if it doesn't mean exactly that?

Same here. 48 hour response time, wish I could try pulling that one on people at work, I'd be clearing my desk within the hour.

If it's not moved by 3pm I'll give them a ring. I would ring them now and cancel but Bedminster Asda is scary enough during the day, god only knows what goes on there at midnight.

Question for anyone that ordered from Game and paid for delivery.

Is the Parcelforce tracking number they gave you actually working, whenever i try it on the Parcelforce site it just says unable to locate this parcel.

I didn't pay for delivery but I have noticed that my reward points total hasn't been updated with the £3 odd that the special edition will give. I got my email on Saturday saying it had been shipped but I am guessing that they are physical sending them out tonight for arrival tomorrow. That's why your Parcelforce tracking number isn't being recognised. It will work either tonight or first thing tomorrow.

Asda and Tesco ads in the Daily Mirror.

Asda - £37 for 360 version (no mention of PS3)

Tesco - £44.71 either version.

Asda is going to be heaving I think.

Could all you guys going down tonight with a pre-order due tomorrow get yours from Tesco. Give us lazy sods a chance to save some money.

Totally forgot I didn't have a pre-order, but all is well as Gamestation in Bath have loads in and they are doing a midnight opening tonight, so just have to decide whether to have a few drinks after work and pop along or wait until tomorrow.

Totally forgot I didn't have a pre-order, but all is well as Gamestation in Bath have loads in and they are doing a midnight opening tonight, so just have to decide whether to have a few drinks after work and pop along or wait until tomorrow.

GAME and HMV are doing the same thing as well. Bath at midnight's about as safe as it gets, too, you'll be fine.

Haha, sorry I got so swamped with university stuff and I'm going back to HK for the summer in about 8 days so it just wasn't worth subscribing to WoW.

I'll try to get on GTA IV on xbox live though and then you can try and punish me :blink:

Yep this is true, not worried about the crime aspect at all, moreso being seen in a games shop queue at midnight :blink:
