On Race Pro the FF is so powerful I can't hold on enough with 1 hand to make it round some of the high speed bends.

What version of the wheel have you got? I've got the 1st one and there was no force feedback in that one whilst playing RP.

Helios - are you able to confirm how pit stops work? Are they user controlled or is it just a case of not pressing any buttons and letting the AI control the pitstop?

I know the Q isn't directed at me, but I found the following videos and thought you might find them interesting. (the vids are pretty old, so they might have made changes to how PS work.)

AI control the pitstops but you as the driver have the option of controlling when you apply the pit limiter as well as making sure you stop in the correct spot in the pitbox. If you come in too quick you can hit your front jack man and send him over your car :)

Cheers Helios for your reply! I hope there is an achievement for hitting the jack man!

Superb!

Mr Helios, how do the starts work? Are you all held til the lights go out/green (however it works in F1) and will only be allowed to move then, or can you go when you want, risking going too early and getting a drive-through penalty?

It would be a shame if the former, it would make a great mini game in itself - either risk a penalty for a good start, or just play it safe by waiting for the green lights but with a slower start. Certainly beats everyone just revving up the car, safe in the knowledge that they won't jump start.

The clutch can be on the handbrake button.

I know! :P

As far as I know from the demo's I played, it's mostly a matter of keeping the revs up properly like in Forza. Of course, having a 750 bhp engine that goes up to 18.000 rpm makes for a bit more challenge :)

alright racing game noob here.

To elaborate: you can't make a false start in the game (I think). You are automatically kept in place until the lights go out (or green), and the quality of your start depends on how well you keep the revs in the proper torque range. It's like that in most modern racing games.

Hmmm, there are a few exceptions. I remember playing either MotoGP...something or Superbike...dunno, where you could make a false start. You could just drive off when you wanted. I think it was SBK '09 now that I've thought about it.

There are definitely some exceptions, like some of the even more simulation racers on the PC. It could make sense in F1 2010, although I can already imagine the abuse when going online.

Gamesmaster review - 90%

So, F1 2010 is pretty good, then. After it rocked Official PlayStation Magazine's socks to the point of a 9/10 review, GamesMaster has now given its verdict - and it's more good news for Codemasters.

In a praise-filled two-page evaluation - complete with 90 per cent score - GM heaps particular applause on F1 2010's career mode, dynamic weather effects and 'hardcore options', which include the possibility to tackle 70-lap races.

GM writes: 'Attending press conferences and interviews, exploring the paddock area and in-team competition between drivers makes [F1 2010] one of the first F1 games to make players feel like a driver rather than a car.'

A minor gripe is raised due to the lack of safety cars, formation laps or random mechanical breakdowns - and that it's not the most accessible game on four wheels.

But as writer Shaun Currow says of people that don't understand the intricacies of F1: 'This game isn't for those people.' Quite.

The mag adds that it's 'delighted' with the officially licensed game's handling, which is says offers a 'huge amount of precision'.

That not enough praise for you?

'F1 2010 delivers the finest, most all encompassing F1 racer on console,' GM concludes.

A must buy for F1 fans, it seems - so long as they're ready to give it the dedication it deserves.

How, Meerman, just how can it have got your 'itch going' anymore than it already is?

You hyped up loony.

Has anyone here tried blur with the wheel, just want to check the fucking crazy big dead zone & delay is the game not the wheel. I don't have another racing game to hand right now, and it's an ebay purchase.

Yes I have tried it. You've picked the wrong game to test your wheel with, as Blur's clearly not developed with it in mind.
