I have pretty much decided to get a logitech driving force gt wheel and i have talked to my brother in law about making a wheel stand as he is a very good wielder.

Would anybody have any dimensions for wheel stands maybe even a wheel stand pro?

I'll probably just use my school nickname of 'Prick'.

Nice!

Ooh you editing bastard!! So that's the way it is, is it? Ok then, I wasn't going to do this because I feel that some things should be left unsaid, however.....

To the good people of Rllmuk, I have a sad announcement to make. As you'll know, the man who calls himself 'Meerman' has always portrayed himself as a man of good gaming stock. An astute man who has prided himself of picking only the very best games to play throughout his life. Those who know him will know of his love and skill of many car games he's played across several console generations. He is a racing game man through and through and will rarely be seen playing anything that does not involve his steering wheel. Many will know him as the man who championed Forza and, as he never fails to remind me everytime he's online, that he championed upcoming F1 game the moment it was announced. He is the driver's driver, the racer's racer, and the guru of speed kings.

For all this, we love the Meerman. He is a fine man. A good man. A man possessed with unrivalled taste to gaming, and who shares my deep love for Rock music.

Or so I was led to believe.

Like all fine, good, and upstanding gentlemen of society there is usually a hidden secret buried in their tortured soul. A secret, or should I say, a guilty pleasure, that flies in the face of their carefully crafted public persona. And like all hidden guilty pleasures, they have a habit of being discovered.

Ladies and Gentlemen of Rllmuk, it gladdens saddens me to announce that the man called Meerman has such a secret. Last night I turned on my Xbox hoping to pit my racing skills against the mighty Meerman with a game of Blur, and to talk fondly of past and present rock bands. The Meerman was indeed online but when I went to invite him for a race my heart stopped at the terrifying sight of what he was currently playing. I was frozen, aghast, shocked, and appalled. I can't bring myself to even mention the game's title so here is a video of what Meerman was playing and no doubt enjoying to the full. Watch it in it's entirety and wonder how we all could have been fooled so easily and for so long: Not for the faint of heart

Add Circuit de Catalunya and Nürburgring Grand Prix (DLC) to that.

Hockenheim this year ;), not that you shouldn't buy and play the Nürburgring DLC, cause it's a great circuit.

Joe, as you've had a couple of plays of this now, how would you say that Forza's R1 cars compare? Worth a little play round a few a few ciruits in them to try and get used to the speedy beasts?

Kind of, although F1 cars still go a lot faster. For track memorisation it's great to play Forza 3 in advance, and using R1 cars means you'll get as close to F1 as you can right now, but expect to have to do everything even quicker in the F1 game.

Also, as far as you can compare the two, the physics in F1 2010 are better than Forza's, I reckon. OH YES, I SAID THAT :)

I can't bloody wait for this. I hope it sells well, it's a shame the US haven't really taken to it. Understandable I suppose :quote:

This and GT5, spoilt for races. My DFGT which has been gathering dust is about to get whooped.

EDIT: PS, free game(s) raffle or I vote HeliosCM gets banned. Or at least sworn at.

Er, thing is, I tried using CTDP 06 with an Xbox controller when my G25 packed up a while ago, and it was awful. Most folks are going to be using the pad so they had to make the handling a little bit more neutral so I doubt it's quite as simmy. It's not something I can really explain very well; the best I can say is that if you make the handling ultra-realistic, it somehow makes it horribly unrealistic once the driving aids are turned on. You can get a much better feel by having slightly less authentic handling from the get-go.

In terms of handling, I've always thought WCP was the closest rFactor mod to the F1 simulator I was jammy enough to try, and even then it wasn't fun to race using a control pad. Even then it doesn't really get the proper sensation with the wheel - if people are really after as close as you can get to how an F1 car feels (well, in a team's simulator anyway) then Ferrari Virtual Academy is the route to go.

I'm looking forward to 2010 being the kind of game where you have to adapt all usual F1 driving sensibilities, but can do so in a slightly more relaxed kind of way. Kind of like the Crammond Grand Prix series :).
