Nintendo E3 Conference: Done & Dusted

Kid Icarus is a terrible game, it's the worst purchase I've made from the VC. That said, a sequel wouldn't be anything like it, but off the back of Pit appearing in Brawl it could gets lots of exposure. It'd basically be a new IP for Nintendo.

Get out. Kid Icarus was amazing, so was its sequel.

Why do we even care, E3 to nintendo is just another way to talk to USA today and This Morning.

We are not their target adience for E3 anymore, the money is with the casuals.

Nintendo has turned me into a casual. I want Even More Brain Training and a new Nintendogs game where you can train them to have Wi-Fi fights. And a new Stunt Race FX rather than a sequel to the vastly inferior Excitetruck. And Mario & Sonic at Royal Ascot. And Mario & Sonic in Liberty City .

Kid Icarus being made by Factor 5 is pretty much 99% sure (going by hints dropped by IGN).

.::: Just what is it with Nintendo farming out my favourite franchises to Americans who want to turn them into something else completely!?

First Metroid and its Halo-obsession, now Kid Icarus going PoP WW with a 'grown up' Pit (FFS)!

Dear lord, waiting almost 20 years for a new KI only to have Mr. SIXAXIS Eggebrecht & Co. get his grubby mitts on it.... AAARGH! Go create a new Turrican or something but stay the bloody hell away from Gunpei's stuff! Why not screw Pilotwings as everybody was waiting for them to do that anyway! </anger>

Ok so E3 is just a few weeks away and looking at Nintendos currently announced lineup for the rest of the year its looking pretty bare with hardly anything being released by Nintendo themselves. Obviously they are keeping most of their titles secret and will most likely announce most of the games they have planned for the rest of the year at E3. So what do you guys think will be shown and announced? Personally Im expecting a new Pikmin and F-Zero game, plus a 1080 game that uses the Wii Balance board. I also hope that there is a new Starfox game on the way also that actually keeps Fox and co in the cockpit and no more on foot sections. Also we will hopefully see something new from Tokyo EAD (Mario Galaxy) and Retro Studios.

I'm guessing absoloutly nothing will happen of interest at E3...

Except that the DS Starfox game was utter wanking shite. I've lost all faith in the Starfox brand. The only one I liked was the original SNES version.

Also, Kid Icarus, have any of you played the two games released? Both were fucking terrible. Probably the worst shit I've ever forced myself to persevere with. Seriously, WTF do people see in Kid Icarus? WHAT?!

.::: You mean Retro Studios?

You mean those Texans drunk on Whiskey Rye who keep making rubbish Metroid-wanabes? Yeah, they can die from liver sclerosis, thank you very much. They murdered, butchered and then tried to feed me the testicles of the Metroid series. I asked the waiter to take it back to the chef and then went back to Super Metroid. There won't be another good Metroid until someone uses some voodoo to revive Gunpei.

Heh. the new mantra. A few months ago it was 'the grannies won't buy any software'.

Well at Liepzig they hid Metroid and co away in a closed section you had to request to enter, the showfloor was filled with the likes of Wii Fit. It's like they're embarrased their traditional games would scare away the casuals or something.

One of the more beleveable rumours that has not been mentioned before is:

- Wario Ware Wii Board

And a Wario Ware title that uses the remote and balance board called Wario Ware Wiggle 'N' Waggle.

I've been banging on about this for ages, actually. I don't think it's so much a case of 'if' as 'when'.

I had to google this acronym, and you're right! Wow, never heard of them before,

Probably because every single game they've made, without exception, has been an inferior sequel/port of a previous game (disclaimer: I haven't played Mario vs Donkey Kong 2).

I think they just did the inferior sequel for the GC, but I could be wrong.

edit: According to the internet 1080 was developed by NCL in Japan, although both of its programmers (yeah, it only had 2 programmers) happened to be English guys. There have been a few English programmers at Nintendo, thinking about it...

.::: As if I'd disagree.

KI is pretty good actullly. But unlike Metroid it never got its defining moment, leading to two experimental games without the Super conclusion.

Retro is owned completely by Nintendo, btw. A 2nd party it is not.

SF64 / Lylat Wars is as good as the original and with better unlockables, but the games after that are utterly mediocre.

I hope their press conference this year is going to be better than last years. An hour of Reggie and Iwata wanking each other off and showing constant Youtube videos.

Hopefully a new Starfox will be shown that is 100% on rails shooting and made by a decent studio, not Namco.
