Nintendo E3 Conference: Done & Dusted

Nope. The games in that conference looked infinitely more fun that what MS showed us yesterday, which was yet more brown space marines.

My tastes are changing. I've tried to fight it by buying RPGs and fighting games, but I can resist no more. I just want fun.

Nintendo apologism never goes out of fashion around here.

Is that what you saw there ? I saw "games" that'll be fun for about 5 minutes.

Madness.

I thought Wii Music looked pretty good, at least the drums look good. I mean, £30-40 for a nice music game that doesn't require a £150 outlay and loads of extra crap sounds good to me. Animal Crossing looked ok too.

Both conferences have been pretty rubbish though so far. It looks like Sony will save E3 then this year.

Fucking hell I don't know whether to laugh or cry :D Worst Nintendo E3 I have ever seen! No core games until after xmas from Nintendo? I guess they just realised that making this other stuff is cheaper and easier and have sold us out :(

Personally I'm gutted.

It's been on the cards for such a long time now, seriously.

I'm disappointed. :D

There has to be something else to make use of MotionPlus right? I honestly can't see why the things they showed couldn't have been done with the original remote.

Considering the main game to demonstrate it isn't out till 2009, not for a while I guess.

Also Star Wars: Clone Wars- automatically shit knowing it won't use the motionplus?

Just gobsmaked.

They showed nothing.

That was the worse e3 conference I've ever seen. and I've seen 'em all.

oh fuck nintendo. oh fuck indeed.

Animal crossing looked ok. and a new wiimore fixer add-on. :D

this is bad.

Well what a let down. Nintendo showed off more 3rd party titles than they did 1st party ones :( . Animal Crossing is big news though and looks great, plus we finally get an online chat solution. New Mario and Zelda titles pratically confirmed plus a sequel to Wii Sports so it wast a complete disaster. But the fact that big games like Wario Shake it and Fatal Frame 4 werent even shown I think shows that Nintendo either didnt have time to show everything or are just going to announce their games either during the show or soon afterwards. I mean the game that ign said would be shown (one that was an old nintendo IP getting a new game) wasnt there nor was the much rumoured punch out or pikmin. And what about the game that Reggie was saying about that was completley new and will make core gamers very happy? Wii music was announced years ago and Wii Sports Resort is a sequel to probably the biggest casual game on the market...

Well Nintendo have certainly got the casual market sewn up, I'll give them that. They're going to be raking in the cash in the next couple of years. Well done chaps, you've created a new market & played it superbly.

But for me I saw precisely nothing that I would buy. (Maybe, possibly Wii Sports Resort).

Hate to say it, but having played Mario Galaxy & Metroid I think I'm done with the machine & am going to sell it. I mean that was their big moment to dazzle us with their wares, & yet it was all so utterly uninspiring. Wii Music looked dull as hell. :D

Remember E3 2006? When Nintendo still loved us? They unveiled Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess for Wii, Metroid Prime 3, Smash Bros, Super Paper Mario and Wii Sports. Remember how happy we felt? How optimistic we were for the future?

E3 2008 - frisbee throwing, waving an imaginary instrument around and Animal Crossing N64+++

There are not enough unhappy smileys in the world :D
