Nintendo E3 Conference: Done & Dusted

Horrifying moments admittedly, but at least some good games and features were announced too, including the megaton Final Fantasy bomb.

Nintendo last year pretty much unveiled fuck all for the hardcore gamer to be excited about, Mario Kart's demo was tainted by that plastic wheel.

MS had some amazing games on show, they just didnt show enough time for each of them, instead concentrating on their new casual entertainment.

I actually hink SquareEnix will have something big for the Wii as well, I mean SE has been probably the biggest 3rd party supporter for the DS yet on Wii they havent done anything really big yet. I think the one thing that could top FFXIII coming to 360 would be FFVII coming to the Wii, which is very possible.

They showed off a trailer for a Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles game for the Wii last year (or the year before?) full of airships and stuff. I hope that's still in development.

A new pikmin, 1080 snowboarding (using balance board) would be nice

Also a DS update which is smaller, has no GBA, inbuilt 4gig flash mem and Download service like wiiware to help homebrew community...

I know the DS is a long shot but well it would be nice...

wouldnt be surprised, there are rumors saying thats pretty much gonna happen (especially with a removed gba port, making a small, slimmer unit)

Why would they remove the GBA port and cripple a whole load of games? It doesn't make sense.

Which games would they cripple? I've not taken the blanking plate over the GBA slot on my DS Lite off once...

The new Guitar Hero, for one. Slide Adventure: Mag Kid, the expansion pack for Band Brothers. There's loads more I'm sure.

That's a good point. I can't see guitar hero being realased around the same time as a new ds without gba slot.

Do you mean as a remake or as a VC game? Seeing as SE have shown little movement in this area, why do you think it's very possible?

I'd love it to be true.

And Pokemon, arguably Nintendo's most important handheld franchise.

And Harvest Moon DS.

I think a ps3 version is more likely, since we already have a tech demo for it. While VII wii would be a bigger surprise then XIII 360, I don't think the wii is a viable platform on a technical level for such a remake

What do you mean by this? That the Wii couldn't do FFVII any better than the PS1? :(

Eh? Surely the GC remake of Resident Evil shows that something with the Wii power could easily do a justifiable remake of something FFVII.

ZOMG NOT LONG NOW!

I don't think much will be announced though. Maybe a new DS?

The 1:1 addon for the Wii remote will be the biggest news for Wii I think.

I imagine, like last year, they'll just drone on about sales figures for quite a while.
