Well he does an awful lot of other videos on Cinemassacre, not just AVGN.

I recently went and watched a load of his older ones. The funniest was by far a 3DO game called Plumbers Don't Wear Ties. Seriously, that's what the game was called.

Yeah James only updates AVGN once a month now. He still does the little side projects but its kind of obvious he is more into the movie making than AVGN. At least he is sticking to his roots of what made him noticed anyway.

Yeah, it's a shame that he's not focusing on AVGN stuff as much as he used to; his recent ones have been great, and he has an amazing enthusiasm whether he's talking about crap games or brilliant ones...

True, but i think whilst AVGN got him noticed, his real love is film itself. Hence why he only does a video a month of AVGN now and spends a lot of time doing film related stuff.

I would reccomend people check out all his other stuff, ddon't just stick to AVGN. He has a crapload of great stuff on the site.

I find it truly amazing that he manages to put himself through the pain of playing some of those awful games. Imagine spending 2 hours trying in earnest to play that Back to the Future II & III on the NES! I remember having a demo of BTFIII on the Spectrum (the same horse riding level) from a Your Sinclair cover tape. It was total arse, and I think at that point I realised that movie tie-ins were generally worthless.

I didn't think too much of it. Being 5 years behind the rest of the world I only just recently discovered AVGN and have now seen all of them, and this one didn't hold up that well to me. Perhaps it was because Kyle was badly ad libbing lyrics through it, but it just didn't seem to flow that well or seem as funny. It was more like one of the Mike and James commentary videos. Maybe there wasn't enough swearing or poo references. I did laugh at the "where did the hair go" bits though.

Still, Ikari Warriors looks like a right bitch to complete. I had it on the Amstrad and never really got that far in it. I don't know how the layouts of the levels compare to the NES version but I'm glad I didn't persevere. :P Because you could get in tanks and have two players I always just thought of it as a posh version of Commando.
