So there you go: a short film/extended commercial/videoette on the subject of shape. Be as liberal with your interpretation as you want.

I'm going to stipulate nothing over 60 seconds. Just because I can. That and I'm fond of brevity.

Offer ends 30.06.08.

Edit: rllmuk vimeo channel added. But please feel free to submit any way you wish.

Oof, interesting. I'll give that a go!

A good word this month, I'll get thinking.

Does it have to be film or could it be an animation?

"Shape" lends itself to some graphical sequence in my mind. So is that allowed?

It gets my vote but I'm not entirely sure what the rules are.

God yes. Anything goes as long as it's a moving image sequence not longer than 60"

Also, and I don't wish to be overly proscriptive, I've been very impressed by Vimeo - if we all upload to Vimeo we could create a rllmuk channel which would level the playing field in terms of quality and make it easier to see each others work.

Let me know if that makes sense chaps.

Great idea!

Right, that was easy. I've created a Vimeo channel called, imaginatively enough rllmuk channel. I've added Despins and my own effort to the channel just so it doesn't look empty. Only moderators can add videos to the channel but anyone who wants to be a moderator can be - just let me know.

Of course you're still welcome to submit videos anyway you wish, this is purely for convenience, although I urge you to try Vimeo - it's well thought out, the quality is excellent and it's very easy to use. There is a forum option within the channel but I suggest we keep all correspondence within this forum lest we vanish off into the ether.

Right, I've got an idea, just to film.

THe hardest part I find is getting people to co operate in what seems like a wank , pointless exercise.

But it always seems so good in my head

I think it'll just be me in this one but still.

Is there an option to pay for vimeo, so that you can upload more than 500mb or whatever it is?

I don't think so but if you're using H.264 at a reasonable bitrate you really shouldn't have to (unless you're planning on uploading a feature film.)

Mercenarri, I've added your haiku but I can't add you as a moderator yet - it's asking for your first + last name, it's not accepting 'arri' weirdly.

Ok, so here is my entry this month.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/26406641@N05/2551683971/

It's a little rough around the edges but generally i'm happy with it. Just started as an experiment after getting an idea of dancing shapes after reading the competition title. Used my television, router, speaker lights and microsoft mouse light to make it. Oh, and my lamp in the hallway.

I'll upload to vimeo when I get a chance.

Hope you like it!

Nice one Simmy, I like that a lot, very true to the month's topic.

I've got a crazy idea that I want to try, but its going to take a long time and I'm not so sure I'll have it ready by the deadline...

Thanks very much, mercenarri.

Really appreciated

Is Vimeo fucking up for anyone?

I signed up, subscribed to the rllmuk channel, but when I click on my profile page, it says 'User doesn't exist'.

This happening to anyone else?

EDIT: Actually, I tried it subscribe, it said I was subsrcibed, but rllmuk isn't in my list of subsrciptions.

How annoying.

Also, I've noticed that you can change the channel url Petrolgirls, so we could have vimeo.com/rllmuk if you fancied it.....

Oh well spotted, done. We are now:

http://www.vimeo.com/rllmuk

Which is rather neat and tidy, I'll update the OP. It is a little bit flaky at the moment, I don't know what's happening regarding your profile Murray, you've come up as a subscriber on the channel but when I click on you it claims you don't exist. Weird.

Again, if anyone wants to be a mod just let me know .

Does it have to be filmed? I'm working in Max and AE, although if it's meant to be 'real' video I'll remove it from this thread.

http://www.vimeo.com/sidechain

Only started last night mind you, so there's not much there ATM.
