Whatever but I'm right about Kill Bill 2. I've justified the reasons why it sucks SO many times.

You have. But those are your reasons for not liking the movie. Others have given entirely justifiable reasons for why they think it's great. Nobody is right or wrong per se. It's a matter of personal taste in the end.

I personally prefered the second. But I can't be arsed to type why, it can be digged up in the Volume 2 thread <_<

Whatever but I'm right about Kill Bill 2. I've justified the reasons why it sucks SO many times. When has anyone actually constructively defended my criticisms? They haven't because I am right. I think everyone loves the thought of a good Tarantino movie, or is blinded by hype or something... I just can't figure it out.

I don't feel I need to justify my liking for a film. I like discussing films on here and I've made my opinions on KB clear (It's Tarantino's best; and each of his films is better than the last), but t here's no obligation to defend something to a jury. This is not some sort of court.

I think it's incredibly condescending to dismiss anyone who likes something as 'blinded by hype' just because they don't counter YOUR arguments to YOUR satisfaction.

I could just as easily say 'some people just don't understand Tarantino', but that would be patronising wouldn't it?

I'm not blinded by hype; or anything else. I just admire the output of a brilliant film-maker. I believe I 'get' what he's trying to do although I'm not sure I can articulate that.

I apologise if I appear a condescending idiot, my intention wasn't to belittle those who liked the film. My strong reaction is because upon leaving the cinema with my mates I was convinced they'd feel the same way. And then the critics: I was confident they'd give the film a good panning. Instead it recieved widespread acclaim and anyone who I spoke to seemed to love it.

I am utterly perplexed because to me it was blatantly poor.

It's just one of those things Stu - not everyone likes the same things. For example, despite the critical acclaim for Moulin Rouge I can't stand it.

I much prefered Kill Bill Vol. 2 to Vol. 1. Although thats irrelevant because its really to same film, but still, I really enjoyed it. Infact I really don't understand Discostu. Were you having a bad day when you went to see it? Its awesome! So many good scenes, and not a minute too long.

Do you understand the type of film this is? Asking logical questions about plot points is meaningless. The film isn't logical - not in the conventional way. It's a homage to some of the most supremely daft movies ever made. In this case 'because it's cool' would be a perfectly good reason to include anything.

You might as well get upset about the samurai swords on the planes.

Id quite like to see it knocked into one thing, though it worked so well as two movies and the tone and pacing was so different in the two movies that it would be dificult to see how they could piece them together seamlessy without really changing things a lot, and you can bet your ass that i'll be whining like a star wars kid seeing greedo shoot first if they cut *anything* out.

that sounds bloody awesome actually, if it going on the cinema next year, does that really mean that we wont get the complete DVD till next christmas. I cant wait that long.

Hope to hell that the 'versione integrale' is the international subtitle and not just a french thing (cannes and all) because it sounds super-cool.

Well, it certainly won't come out this year. I really hope the complete DVD will be loaded. The rumours of an entirely new anime section that chronicles the past of Bill almost sounds too good to be true.

David Carrandine confirmed that Bill's the guy who kills Oren's family in the anime sequence, so...

According to Amazon, via Slashfilm, The Weinstein Company along with Genius Products are doing just that and will release "Kill Bill - The Whole Bloody Affair" DVD set on November 6th. The set will consist of four discs for a total runtime of 247 minutes and will be rated NC-17.

I'm waiting for this. I remember an announcement on the radio in the lead up to Kill Bill 2 being released stating that an extra anime piece was going in. Maybe thats whats taking so long?

Afraid not - I think Tarantino mentioned it didn't happen in a recent Grindhouse interview.

Been waiting for this for fucking ages. Loved the films but refused to buy them on dvd knowing a proper dvd would be out eventualy.

Ditto.

I presume will the new film have all the scenes placed in order of how they happened?

I doubt it but only because RD, PF, JB all had messed up chronology.

I'm pretty sure The Weinstein Co are HD-DVD exclusive aren't they?

They are, but they don't own the whole back catalogue. When they split from Miramax, Weinstein got most stuff, but I think Disney still have some titles from before the split.

Having checked a bit now, it seems Tarantino may actually hold the rights to the complete directors cut of Kill Bill. Which would obviously be released via Weinstein and on HD DVD.
