Dragon Age: Origins

Well I'm certainly doing it a lot quicker than the people earlier in the thread spending 7 hours on their origin =]

I had quite a quick playthrough. Still took me 40 hours or something. :coffee:

My origin took a couple of hours or so, plus the hour and a half I lost due to a crash, of course.

Are you the "How the hell can they not quicksave more?!?!?!?" guy from earlier? I've experienced this rage briefly, the autosaves are useless. Don't save when I leave a dungeon or beat a boss but autosave about 4 times in the space of 30 seconds when I'm just running around Redcliffe.

Nope, I'm the "I lost three hours of my life due to bugs" girl. :coffee: After the first incident I got to saving manually moderately often, however I still lost about an hour after I had the party member mysteriously vanishing bug, just because I'd been doing a lot of story stuff rather than actual progress and didn't think to save :)

I watched the cut scene with the Lady of the Forest with the dialogue totally out of synch with her mouth movements and her submerged up to her waist in that wolf, Witherfang. After the cutscene where

she dies

she was still stood there and I could talk to her and she'd tell me to go get that elf dude just like she did before I went and got him and triggered the cutscene.

I've been looking for some mods for my next play through, found quite a good thread on the Bioware Social site. Dragon Age redesigned is really good, lots of new faces for the NPCs which I think generally look better, especially the Elves. Cammen in the Dalish Camp for example is a big improvement, I like the new Sten as well, not quite sure on Leliana but you mod all the characters individually so can pick and choose.

Jinkies, did the author of that miss the point or what? Yes, lets turn the creepy, maleficar swamp witch into a pretty Pantene model.

That's actually a different mod based on a model who was supposed to be some influence on her look, still playing around with mods to see which look best. This is Morrigan from the mod, which I think is an improvement but still keeping her look.

Yeah generally I don't think I'd want to change the appearance of any of the characters in the game (although that 'redesigned' mod is better than most, generally speaking, it generally seems to keep the spirit of the characters intact) but the beauty of these mods is you don't have to add them on unless you want to.

Morrigan the model is just hilarious though.

I couldn't get Leilani to drop her draws for love or money? Was it because I shagged Morrigan first? I had her on full approval but everytime I'd talk to her she'd force a conversation about me and Morrigan, so I did the right thing and told her I'd dumped her witch ass. Ever since all I get at camp when I talk to her is an option to tell her"You mean everything to me!" which she likes but she's keeping her ginger growler under lock and key still.

Jesus, I'm trying to nail Morrigan so I've been giving her gifts and stuff, chatting to her and generally agreeing with her. Found that

book about her mum

and it seemed like it was helping with her liking me.

But jesus, when I got there to kill her mum flemeth just turned into this fucking massive dragon which kicked the shit outta me in about 4 seconds.

What's a good tactic for fighting dragons? And how much is warder's keep on PSN?

Dragon fighting:

Get some flame resistance on the character you're using to fight up-close. Some resistance to knockdown or the like can help, too. If you've got them, use death hex and misdirection hex, and whenever the dragon picks someone up, try to stun/interrupt somehow. Keep most people back so they can't be torn to pieces. Be ready with heals.

Have you done the Circle of Magi yet? As for tanking, Alistair should be fine but the best dragon tank is Shale from the included DLC.

Yeah, is there anyone other than Wynn I can recruit? She's a totaly bellend. Why aren't there more evil or morally ambiguous characters? BG was stuffed with them.

Best dragon damager is a weapon that's best suited to a companion you probably don't have, though, seeing as you rushed through Lothering.

Arse. Have I missed the weapon or the person?
