Maybe I misunderstand your point.

You did. But it was well obfuscated; I had a double-take until I got the sense.

i.e. he's been doing the 'not letting us know' bit all along, and if he has any integrity, that's the way it'll stay.

It's got to be 3D goggles.

:)

It's funny because it's not as stupid a suggestion as you think! Ubisoft are doing it and a few doors down from them is a company that makes them (and they just bought the post production company that did Spy Kids 3D), Epic would if they thought it was good (recently went off on one about why they aren't keen, which tends to mean they're using it but don't want you to know). There's some (Cameron?) film out soon which uses it, and some games companies are going to try to ride the wave.

I'm deadly serious :)

I reckon the drawings of the MS wiimote and the copycat Mii stuff is a hoax to wrong-foot us when the MicroTON!!! is dropped.

Well it could be true - GoW2 could certainly have it (I think the implication from what I've seen is that all Unreal Engine games will be able to do it, even if Epic are telling everyone it's crap, and the last time I encountered something quite like this it was someone hiding what a certain devco close to Sony were up to by walking around telling everyone the PS3 is utterly shit and they wouldn't touch it with a proverbial bargepole). I don't think it would be unique enough though, Sony could easily push it out the door by xmas if they wanted to match it.

As with anything that requires a big peripheral late in the game you have problems with adoption and usage. The one thing 3D goggles have is how easy it is to add to the game code, unlike Wii style input.

A random aside is I have to agree with Poet's comments regarding NDAs. If you do know anything certain about a given topic on here but are bound by NDA to not reveal specific things about it then the best course of action is to not post in it at all.

If there is a Wiimote equivalent, presumably it must have a USP of its own, something it can do that Nintendo's one can't? (Or, at least, not until MotionPlus!) I wonder (if it exists) whether it's been developed by those guys who were in Edge a while back... that would be awesome.

I don't see why they wanna try though. The people who own a 360 surely aren't the kinda people who want to play waggle mini-games and stuff like that? Surely that doesn't appeal to them. Would be like putting the next Halo FPS on Wii.
