Nice relaxing game to play

Relaxing :( have you seen what the bastard AI likes to do, hit you from the side forcing you to crash going from third to last in a twinkle of an eye.

I really like this game and it might be an acquired taste for some but I would not describe it as relaxing ^_^

Sorry I just realized you might have been referring to cruising in the free roam mode.

Yeah. Most of the races are easy. But some are a right bitch.

I was looking to get a racing game this weekend, either this, Pure, Grid, PGR4, or maybe even Dirt.

Which should I get?

I know they're all pretty different, but I just want a fun racer that will hold my attention for a bit.

May I suggest Test Drive Unlimited if you have not play it. Failing that you can't go wrong with PGR 4.

Got this today (along with Red Faction, game credit and voucher won at work FTW! :) )

Should be online having a go later, feel free to add me for some races etc. Looking forward to trying it, for racing games I can have some right shocking tastes so just have to try this for myself.

What I was sort of hoping from this game was a cross between TDU and Motorcross madness. Something I can sit back and just rinse through at high speed doing silly tricks. I really like Pure... Hmm. Last time I bought a dodgy but good game was Race pro and I kinda wish I hadn't bothered. The problems get to me. I await further comments owners.

Only played for about an hour or so but it's alot better than I expected given the mixed reception on here. The graphics are ropey in places and the music is awful but the actual driving and racing is fun so far :) .Haven't tried the online yet so looking forward to giving that a try.

Feel free to add me if you fancy some multiplayer.Gt in sig.

IGN gave it 5.1 which looks spot on given the comments on here by those who have played it. I hope Codemasters don't mess up the F1 game aswell next year as I'll be fuming!

I posted the score from IGN a couple of pages back. No one believed the game could be that bad.

Tried it at a friends house today and I don't like it. Boring track design and almost no sense of speed.

Still can't wait to see why Edge gave it 8/10.

One thing that really bothers me is the night time element on the 360. Maybe its my eyesight, or my TV or a mixture of both but its just too dark to be playable even with the brightness turned right up. The lighting during dusk is just odd, it washes the screen with a pink hue which looks almost like the aftermath of a nuclear explosion.

I dont think you will. EDGE has always been slightly generous with Codemasters games and I think this is the most obvious to date. The more I play it the less I like it. I'm just glad I only paid £27 for it.

What's the deal with the challenges where you race the chopper? It seemed like "drive straight, fast", but I could never gain on it, until about half a mile from the finish when it slowed down and I overtook it with ease.

Played it for about an hour, offline, and enjoying it. It's easy and laid back, and bloody huge. The first zone feels several times bigger than Burnout Paradise, and there's about 15 zones. Seems to drip feed you unlockables at a steady rate too, which is nice. Will play some online later.

I was a bit annoyed that the very first thing it said once I started a game was "You've unlocked a new livery", but it was in the middle of a lake and I couldn't collect it.

I'm gonna knock your socks off now. Edge gave it an 8........because they liked it! They said despite it's flaws they enjoyed the racing.

The only things that annoy me slightly, are that the GPS can be screwy, and yeah it is too dark at night unless you put the brightness up. It probably would have benefited from no day/night cycle to be honest.

But like TDU I like going exploring and doing the challenges along the way.

Can anyone elaborate on the creator mode that I've just read about in the Eurogamer review? Is it jsut placing your own checkpoints or something?

Can create and save 10 races of multi class vehicles of up to 30 checkpoints anywhere in the world.

Heh, seems I bought the PS3 by mistake. Actully glad given what I read about the lighting.

FUCKING FUMING!

Just drove from Tsunami Beac to the White Flats (One side of the map to the other). Been driving for 158 miles, which took 2 HOURS 48 MINUTES with about 20 miles to go, and my fucking Xbox freezes.

Not only do i not finish my journey, but my last save was about 100 miles earlier!! That means i gotta do those 100 miles again to count to the 320 mile acheivement.

NOT HAPPY. HUFF.

Something which pissed me off a bit,

I spotted a new challenge miles away, drove over to it... and it wouldnt let me do the challenge! ( as I never had enough credits to take part )

does it tell you anywhere if you can do the challenge, before you make the trip?

No, but you should be able to teleport back there from the menu when you do.
