FUEL - Openworld racer from Codemasters

I'm still enjoying this game rather a lot - apart from the bloody vista points. Who on earth thought it was a good idea to hide some away at the top of stupidly steep mountains and then let you struggle to find a vehicle that does more than 1/2mph up the side of them? Being a completist I can't move on without getting them though.

I know, equally annoyed but not surprised. Sounds like a lot of issues have been fixed (but sadly not the music).

I just want the online flow sorted out.

Perrenial question but any update on the patch? A few friends have now picked this up cheap but I cannot bring myself to sugegst online racing at mo.

Any info appreciated.

Thanks

Despite my early praise for this, the monotony of it all soon set in.. It found itself traded a while back before the inevitible price drop (got the same as what I paid for it £25). Since then have been getting my racing kicks from Pacific Rift and Midnight Club LA both of which I must say highlight just how dull the actual racing side of FUEL really is!

Still has some of the nicest scenery Ive seen in a game for quite some time though. It could be brilliant there is no doubt about it.. they just need to add more variety in things you have to do, and maybe cut back on the actual map size. Fingers crossed they stir things up a bit if FUEL 2 ever gets the green light!

I'm in a spectacularly bad mood so please forgive me and this is directed at you, Linkster, cos you don't work there, but it's too little too fucking late. 2 months after fucking release it's finally being patched? What fucking good is that? What does this patch fix? Just the online? The bugs where you fall through the floor? All or none of the above? Grrr nash foam spew snarl whinge.

It's ridiculous really. Other games have been released and patched since this game came out, so I suspect this game won't be getting a patch at all. It's obviously too late to make any difference now, as I guess I'm one of the only people still playing it.

I'm still playing this and enjoying it quite a bit but it's so sad that they fucked the game over big style. ;)

Maybe one day we'll get that patch but I'm guessing the game's as dead as anything now on the multiplayer side. It's sad because I think the game is genuinely a lot of fun and pretty damn good, any time I want to go for a bit of offroad freeriding I just stick this on, very relaxing to play (for me)

I'm really enjoying this. I dont care over much for the lack of online, it really does not bother me at all. But the feeling of freedom, driving a buggy across the land and flinging it off mountains has so far not once gotten old. The races are incredibly easy but I can live with that, its really just the expiriance of driving across the open terrain and heading up mountains at incredibly stupid angles.

It may well be broken as hell but whenever I load it up I always have a huge smile on my face.

I wouldn't worry, you'll get plenty of mileage out of Fuel.

Lots of long dull mileage though. I must have put a few hundreds miles in and there wasn't an exciting moment to speak of. Just lifeless physics and bland environments.

They were definitely lifeless but I thought it had a pretty cool atmosphere to it when driving around in silence. Going through burned out woods, to deserts, to snow etc. Whilst I enjoy the racing I also enjoy sticking the game on just to drive around it for a while in free ride, I just find it relaxing for some reason.
