Manuwa having that kind of power in his secondary hand is just mad.

Not as scary as Rumble, but he's not irrelevant in this increasingly-thin 205 division. He might get Cirkunov next, but UFC have a bad habit of putting potential future contenders against each other earlier than you'd like.

Amazing instincts by Gunnar. He's rocked? Time to wrap him up like a pretzel.

Also, Marc Diakiese may have just produced the most entertaining 30 secs of MMA ever.

I know that Nelson is a super high level jujitsu player, but against a top opponent is going for the sub in that position advisable and the right thing to do ?

Can't recall many (or any) who had somebody as rocked as Joubain was going for a sub, and not a KO

I know he won, just not sure that would be the right thought process against a higher level opponent who may recover.

If you are confident in your submission ability, it's the right move imo. People have different strength chins - the same shot might put me away but you could withstand it. Neither of us can stop going unconscious from an expertly applied guillotine or RNC.

I get what youre saying @Gotters but I agree with @Orion and @Kingpin, its probably safer to go for a sub, as long as its something solid like a guillotine/RNC and nothing crazy, as if you rock somebody and charge in you can get caught with a wild strike or punch yourself out like Carwin did against Lesner. It depends on the situation/fighter but id go for a sub

Smarter going for the sub if the guys rocked and can't defend properly. We've seen a few times when fighters have tried finishing with strikes from top position and ended up being subbed when the rocked fighter regains composure - this was big nogs bread and butter.

'Get in my guard!' trapped.

Quite an exciting crop of UK young'uns coming through, will be interesting to see how far they go.

Still not really sure about Manuwa. Always wanted him to do well but he was massively outclassed against Rumble and Gus - on the other hand OSP and Anderson are solid midcarders and he destroyed them, maybe changing camps has kicked him up a gear. Interested to see what will happen if/when the prospect of another Gus fight comes up, can't see them dodging each other. Having said that he's not exactly known for his quick turnarounds, Jones will probably be back before his next fight.

Cormier would hump him into oblivion but he's got a chance against Rumble.

English boy battered 'Khani.

I thought Makwan won it 29-28 then got robbed by a home decision.

I thought you meant recently. Yes Melendez was on straightforward steroids. Mendes was on HGH just trying to get as big as possible; his physique was totally different in the Aldo rematch. The fact he was online saying he always looked like that makes me not trust anyone from team alpha male. I reckon they were/are all juicing.

I think it's a weird thing to examine, theyre all on supplements, every last one of them.  Only some of them decide to cross into the naughty territory, and get caught. But that line is always moving back and forth between what are banned substances and what are athletes supplements.

Oh and Bader to Bellator, official

I forgot to mention how annoying Jon Gooden was on Saturday. Spouting bizarrely stereotypical American phrases for no reason whatsoever.

'Jimi Manuwa is one bad mama jama. Holy smokes!'

I wish I was embellishing, that's word-for-word. Just stick to what you are good at for fucks sake. Can't wait for him to go full Jim Ross next time.

I can't stand that UK commentary team, I think Rogan sends the pair of them a vat of Alpha Brain before they go on air and the pair of them are far too hyped up. The main guy just spouts shite (he's from the Sam Mattaface school of commentary where he has spent all week researching these facts and making up shit puns and he is going to cram every one of them in whether appropriate or not) and Dan Hardy seems to feel he needs to keep up and join in - stop using both of a fighters names every 10s 'arnold allen moving round to the left, oh good jab by arnold allen, arnold allen blah blah blah'

Then Dan Hardy tops even Rogan for long winded questions in the octagon that are more statements of fact, go nowhere and end with 'so how do you feel'

I heard something about Chad saying he failed a test for a psoriacis cream? Mendes was always pretty huge for a 145lber and im sure he cut loads but he was very big so it comes down to the smell test i guess.

I like Dan and Johns commentary, they were pretty hyped saturday for sure and the odd annoying thing can slip out but theyre way better than anyone else bar Rogan/Cruz just now.

Johns a decent bloke and a young guy who just interviewed for the position and got it, so good on him. Hardys colour commentary and analysis is great too.  Wasn't a massive fan of Todd Grisham.

Dan Hardy aside, I'm not a fan of UK mma commentators in general. They always fall back into the twatish sounding 'football mode' or do the rubbish boxing talk where they have ZERO knowledge of what they're talking about. I'd take the worst american sounding monster truck commentary over that any day.
