I actually thought Tai might get the W going in. Gane was awesome, completely capitalised with the shovel uppercut proper quick. Different breed of heavyweight.

Glad Whittaker did Vettori up like that, too. Can't believe the guy's a top 5; not impressive at all.

Crowd singing the national anthem was ace.

Totally didn't realise Nate vs Chimaev was a PPV this weekend. Not that it matters to us in the UK but I can't see it selling much at all, pretty much just a good TV card:

Quote

Welterweight Khamzat Chimaev vs. Nate Diaz

Welterweight Li Jingliang vs. Tony Ferguson

Catchweight (180 lb) Kevin Holland vs. Daniel Rodriguez

Women's Bantamweight Irene Aldana vs. Macy Chiasson

Light Heavyweight Johnny Walker vs. Ion Cuțelaba

Seen abit of speculation online that because this is the last fight on Nates contract that they have not just given him Khamzat, who is a nightmare style wise for him, but also given it a weak undercard as well. Screwing Nate over as he has PPV points.

Could be nothing in it but I wouldn't put it past Dana and co doing some shit like that.

I wonder if he’d go elsewhere? Bellator would probably give him decent chunk of change, but he’s fought three times in six years, is he even worth the bother?

Seeing him upset a hype train would be hilarious, mainly to see what shade of red Dana can go.

I think it is more likely boxing Jake Paul or that Bare knuckle shit. They have more money to throw at him.

He is a Diaz brother though so who knows ???

In his shoes, boxing Jake Paul for a purse that would likely outweigh is UFC earnings over the last decade would be smart move. Maybe not in terms of credibility but he’s a vet with enough of a legacy for that to really matter anymore.

Feel like Tony might be leaving his gloves in the Octagon on Saturday night. Kind of sad his form dropped like a stone but the lightweight division is such a shark tank that any kind of run will end soon enough (unless your name is Khabib) and he probably needs to get himself healthy away from the fight game.

Boxing a Paul brother is surely the move? It'd be huge and he could be as mad as he wants in the build up.

Yeah, if he wind its toss up whether he'd retire or keep going, no way he's getting near the title again, sadly. He was great to watch

So there it is, Nate vs Tony and Khamzat vs Holland. Feel bad for Leech as he's the one that ended up getting stuffed in terms of weight.

Seen a few tweets (I know) suggesting this is a 'work' to rescue the PPV after poor sales. It can't be ... can it? But Khamzat is both weirdly a) unapologetic and b) healthy looking, suggesting he did it on purpose. Then there is the apparently massive backstage fight which amazingly no-one has any footage of, whereas normally during fight week all it takes is someone to fart and it's all over the news sites. Absolutely bizarre.

I wouldn't put anything past the ufc brass, but surely Khamzat is a bigger draw than Ferguson? I haven't seen the backstage fight stuff but it Khamzat going at Holland wasn't it? Now I get it. I actually prefer these match-ups but it's a bit sus.

I don't think it's on purpose. Diaz Vs. Tony would've been an amazing fight to promote going into 279. Two fan favourites. I don't think they'd spend 3 months in camp training for these dudes then switch it up suddenly.

But this is way more interesting, as I thought there was a strong possibility of Khamzat beating the brakes off Diaz. Tony Vs Diaz has the potential to be FOTY.

Watched the weigh ins last night and Khamzat wasn't well received at all. Huge respect between Tony and Diaz though; I bet they made a decent few bucks saving the card.

So nobody got paid any extra money for saving the card,  they kicked Johnny Walker out of the arena after his fight before he could even get changed out of his ring gear and Chris Barnett is on Instagram asking for a lift back to the arena because the UFC dropped him off at the hospital to get checked out after his fight but they didn’t wait for him?   What an absolute shower.

The main and co-main were odd. Khamzat looks legit but hard to see him getting a shot anytime soon without at least proving again he can make 170 several times.

Ferguson looked slow against Diaz. Was like watching a legends football match, where the talent is there but the bodies can’t quite execute at the same speed as they used to. Fun, awkward scrap but as a headline fight it was all a bit WWE in the end. That’s not surprising given the last-minute shuffling of fights but imagine it will be one event Dana et al will quickly want to draw a line under.

Thought it was a bit of a farce.

Li got the worst of it, missed out on a highprofile fight then lost a fight I think most people thought he won.

Khamzat looked great, but his lost fight speech was a bit psychotic at worst "wtf" at best. It took me a minute to recognise Darren Till with him. In that suit he had on, Rogan looked like a little person (is that the term?) next to Khamzat.

Diaz v Ferguson was kinda absurb until they started going at it. Good finish fro Diaz but no way Tony should get caught like that. The door seems open for Nate to comeback it seems

Met some guys tonight involved bare Knuckle. Know a few from decades ago. These guys were kids to me.

Good fellas. For 10 minutes. Never have I met guys involved in combat sports who are as shady as these cunts. It felt ok ..then it didn't. I got into a heated discussion about a heavyweight boxing match. Got some hard mad crap. I just said, fuck it...put yet biggest man. I will fight for free. Pay my taxi fare.

Friend of mine, actual boxer (who beat Tommy Fury but was robbed, because....boxing) said, go go it.

So yeah, I'm signed up for a heavyweight BK fighr

Wife ain't happy.

Me making a couple grand is mentioned. Fuck that. The guy is a racist dick. rip this cunt apart for exercise.
