Guildford Smiths only had Parappa covers...

So I bought the one with Parappa.

Which kind of defeats the purpose of having a choice. But hey ho. It's not the worst of the covers by any stretch of the imagination and, bearing in mind 175 of the 200 are dull as dishwater, it could have been much worse I suppose. I'd have been supremely grumpy if I had to pick up any of the sprite rip or the retro wireframe ones. (not that I dislike the games, just the bland naffness of the layouts.)

Inside's OK. Had a half hour read on the bus and enjoyed the Playstation article. Nothing else has jumped out at me, excpet for the editorial about Resi 5 which is a kicking well deserved.

The WHSmith in Croydon had Gannondorf, Super Punch-Out and two other games I can't remember but I'd never played them. I went for Gannondorf. Not the most exciting cover but since I'm a Zelda fan it's not too bad. Ideally I wanted Left 4 Dead or Half Life 2.

Also, ironically, bearing in mind the low interest (design wise) in the vast majority of the covers, the inside Top 100 double page spread is gorgeous and, with a bit of tweaking, would have made a fantata cover. Nice one that there layout artist.

Well, I got Ocarina of Time, #199. Which is a shame really, as I'm sure some of you would really want it whereas I'm not really bothered about Zelda.

I'd have much preferred the Doom guy one, or one of the Resident Evil covers. The licker one looks pretty suave. To be honest I might look for another and keep this one as a 'sell-me-on'.

8 - mr. game and watch

3 - gannondorf

1 - bomberman

wh smiths in bluewater only had 4 copies of the prince of persia cover

my search for any of the following (dig dug, tetris, mario bros. (arcade), earthbound, f-zero and shadow of the colossus covers) continues.

I'd cough up a lung if someone comes across a Lords of Midnight, Ghouls and Ghosts, Paradroid or Super Punchout and didn't want them. :wub:

I spotted a Paradroid one in my local newsagents and grabbed it for you. Drop me a PM if you've not managed to find one yet.

Incidentally I reckon that this thread'll grow by 200+ pages on the release date which, if nothing else will be nicely ironic. I also reckon Cacky will rescind his self or forum imposed exile and come in and moan about everything, especially as there isn't an Armoured Core cover is there? Deliberate slight there I'd've thought.

Why would there be an Armored Core cover though? It's a resolutely Japanese series.

As for "exile"? wtf? :(
