Jesus, the multiplayer in this is fucking superb. Very surprised.

It is very good isnt it, i was suprised given the controls in the last one and how many bullets it took to take someone down. They have nailed it though, ive played shit tones of it since last month now cant wait for it to be for realz instead of a beta.

On Play this is listed as 'in stock, ships within 24 hours'. Is it normal for Play to list items like that a week before release?

Just had a "despatching soon" notification from GAME, so my guess is that they're out there. Cannot wait. :)

The weapons all feel like they have their own ups and downs, which is a nice change. The AK-47 initially seems like the weakest rifle to keep hold of, but it's pretty lethal at short-ish range. That shotgun pistol thing is lovely, too.

The game's so damn nice to play, even the RPG-only game mode doesn't result in endless amounts of frustration.

Just a shame I have to use that dire pad to play it...

I ordered FIFA on the Sunday before release cos it showed as 'in stock'. It still arrived on the release day, but it wasn't packed until the Wednesday.

I was surprised at how fun the multiplayer in this was as well. I put the beta on at 3am this morning thinking 'yeah i'll give this tacked on mode a quick go and then go to bed', 2 hours later I was still playing it until I just forced myself to go to bed. My only complaint is the wait time to find a game, it's irritating, hopefully that'll be fixed by just more people having a copy next week.

I'm buying it on Wednesday with a headset and HDMI cable. :)

I'll post in that thread when I got my grubby hands on it.

Getting grubby hands on new hardware is always so fucking brilliant :)

One piece of advice: add Gioteck Real Triggers to your shopping list, it makes the laughable playmobil-like triggers on the Dual Shock 3 somewhat decent. They're only a couple of euros, and mine have never left my DS3 since getting them.

Oh god, yes. In all the excitement of new PS3 owners (such a change from the last few years) I've been forgetting to pimp those triggers. They are essential. I've got so used to mine (glued on of course) that I just think that's how dual shocks are straight from the box.

Thanks for the tip. Ordered them immediately. :D

I bought a PS3 pretty much for this game... why oh why does it have to come out the same week as Brutal Legend?

Yeah I'm in same situation. I went with Uncharted2 as that's going to be amazing to play straight away, I think Brutal Legend will be timeless in the same way most double fine games are. Maybe I'll pick it up late december/early jan during game lull.
