I did have about six months where I wasn't in a great position to be gaming, but that's pretty poor. And what's more, I must be doing something wrong - I play this smattering of games, and I can't manage my personal or social life, I drive friends away and alienate loved ones. How the fuck do you all fit so many games in and still have a functional existence?!

Oh, and I've kind of completed Braid. I expect you know what I mean.

Not many compared to some but I'm still fairly impressed I got all those done in between commuting to London on a daily basis. Ones I definitely still planning on getting finished (a lot of these are new, to me at least):

Dead Rising (sorry, the saving in this game is archaic and ruins all the fun).

Obscure hidden easter egg things. There's some info on them in the Braid thread. One involves standing in the right place on a level and not touching the controller for 3 hours or something*. All sounds pretty torturous to me.

I’ve noticed quite a few of you keep list on what you have completed and when, which is an interesting idea so I will be doing the same this year. I’ve been meaning to keep a list of what I have etc, so its a pretty good opportunity to combine the two.

Mind you, I did too, and only found out the significance of it all in lewismistreated's "Braid - Everything spoiled" thread.

Brilliant - didn't know about any of that, you've just made my afternoon. I loved Braid, totally loved it, and this makes me like it even more and convinces me I should fire it up again.

Glad to be of service, I felt the same way when I read that thread - but don't thank me, thank lewismistreated (I'll thank him for you). I've only done one of the stars myself, and that required me to start the game over, so at some point in the near future I'll probably go through the game again.

Perhaps this might also be of use to you? Don't know if you've read Jonathan Blow's blog at all, but here's an entry where he points you in the direction of where you can buy the music.

Nope - not seen this either. I came at the game in a fairly 'vanilla' state - other than the 1up reviews I hadn't read or seen much and have steered clear of the 'pretension' debate thus far because I just don't see it as a relevant discussion. Sadly this means I've missed a lot of the hidden depth I think so maybe it is time to read up on it a bit.

Didn't really complete a lot this year; only bought about 8 games all year. I did manage to complete Everybody's Golf and Call of Duty World at War, and made a good stab at WipeOut HD, Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank. I *may* have completed Mario Galaxy too... can't remember if it was 07 or 08.

I'm going to concentrate on getting the most out of only a few purchases this year, mainly Little Big Planet hopefully.

13. The Witcher enhanced edition (PC) 11 October

15. Dead Space - 12 Nov

This compares to around 20 games in the last 2 years - there was a long space between 6 and 7 where I nearly finished GTAIV before the 360 exploded in April.

The first one up for 2009 will be Far Cry 2 I hope.
