On Deadly Ground (1994) – ITV1 10.15pm **

Superb, epic tat film making! Michael Caine looking like his face is melting, Segal trying to protect the environment by blowing stuff up! A weird trippy section in the middle when he goes on his spiritual quest. People need to watch this!

Wow Enter The Ninja is on?! I haven't seen that since about 1983! I'm with Linkster, they need to show the entire series, quality 80s action!

I'm more than happy to include HD films on the BBC. Aren't there HD channels of all the Sky movie stations now anyway (barring Classics and Indie)? So if you see a film in this list that is on one of those channels it should be in HD too. Unfortunately if the scheduling is a bit different between the Sky SD and HD channels I have no means of checking other than going through the EPG manually which is something I obviously don't really want to do.

Tough question as it is the sort of film that will divide people. Have you seen/enjoyed any other Terrence Malick films (Badlands, The Thin Red Line, The New World) if the answer is yes then watch it. It is a slow and reasonably uneventful film but beautifully shot with a real strong sense of character and place.

I think if you've never seen it, then you've got to give Young Sherlock Holmes a couple of hours of your time.

Was on last week. Fantastic, memorable film already with fantastic an unexpected set pieces, especially the opening with the hallucinating dinner right through to the Indiana Jones style climax.

Just can't shake the fact that Sherlock (Nicholas Rowe) looks like Joe Cornish from Adam & Joe.

Days of Heaven last night on Film4.

Amazing. Makes me want to walk through central America, on another channel Into the Wild was on - interesting to compare how western life has moved on in the 80 years or so between films. Into the Wild seemed quite cliched traveller lonesome, Ive never seen anything quite like Days of Heaven, it made me recall the Straight Story in its show of nature and America.
