Re my question about RDR being more expensive on PS3:

Dear Jon,

Thank you for your e-mail. I am very sorry for the confusion caused.

At the moment price for PS3 version of Red Dead Redemption is more expensive than the Xbox version. The price that is advertised on the website depends on our suppliers, which might change every time we order new stock for the item.

Hope this helps and if you have any more questions don't hesitate to contact us again.

Kind regards,

For those waiting in anitcipation (like me!) head over to https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/ and sign up. There's a 360 challenge up that allows you to unlock something or other.

Only issue I'm having with the site is that I can't seem to get it to link with my 360 Profile

Yep, same for me. I get a "platform must be specified" error when trying to sign into Windows Live via their linking system, which looks like a Rockstar cock-up because only they care what platform you're on being as Windows Live doesn't exactly work with PSN ;)

Damn you, Sony.

;)

I played Lemmings on a Spectrum, I'm sure I won't care. Getting pretty excited now, basically not read or seen anything on this beyond it's great and there are cowboys and both those things please me.

My problem is that I cannot access the site from my PC but I can from my phone. Any suggestions that might rectify this please Gents ?

Some odd shenanigans....

So I drive Bonnie into town. She tells me to go to the Doc's to pick up some medicine whilst she goes to the general store. I dismount and saunter over to the docs. Gunshots ring out. 'Ha!', I think to myself, 'life in the west sure was ker-razy'. Next thing I know, I get shot. I spin round and see some varmit crouched behind a crate. He leans out and shoots at me again. 'SONOFABITCH!' I yell, as I pull out my trusty six shooter and put a bullet between his eyes. 'That'll teach him!' I think, smugly. The screen fades to black...

MISSION FAILED!

YOU COMMITTED A CRIME!

;)

Next, I go with Marshall Johnson to capture a gang member. I complete the mission, and whistle for my horse. I mount up and just as I'm about to take a gentle ride back to the ranch when I see some guy running past shouting 'HELP! HELP!'. I turn to see two men chasing him, taking pot shots. Thinking I'm being a hero, I pull my gun and get ready to take his pursuers out when I see they're wearing badges - they're the law! I holster my gun but apparently they don't like having random strangers on horseback take aim at them and they start firing at me! This being the west of the wild sort, and me being out in the middle of nowhere, I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot the deputy. That fucker ran off.

Pussy.

One thing I didn't like is that I tried crossing a stream atop a horse which turned out to be deep. As soon as the horse's head went below the water the screen just said 'DEAD'. The horse was dead, I was now riding a floating corpse which surely makes me alive yet drifting?

Anyone pre-order from GAME online and received their copy yet? Chap in work has not received his copy yet although it was sent Tuesday- his text message to me just said 'DAMN!!!!!!!!!!'

I think he may go into meltdown when he pops over to my desk tomorrow at work and sees me reading the map and instruction booklet after picking up from HMV!

Earlier in the thread, someone posted that their GAME order had arrived today.

Had a great moment earlier (Non story and not really a spoiler but just incase)

Lost a game of poker so thought I'd show them the bullet, stood up and whipped out my rifle, then suddenly all the poker players pushed back their chairs and drew their pistols on me. Feeling a bit outnumbered I was told to "walk away stranger" and duly put my gun away and strolled out the bar.

Loving it, although the 10 minutes I played of free roam multiplayer wasn't very good. It was all focused around one house with everyone killing each other then re-spawning when their was a whole map to be had. Didn't try any other game modes out.

How do I take a bounty target alive? I've shot him in the kneecap, beat the shit out of him but don't know what else to do...

EDIT: Nevermind - you can't do it until you've done the mission that gives you the lasso.

I'm loving the gunplay in this - WAY better than GTA4.

So no word on crazy supermarket deals then? Was just gonna grab this from anywhere tomorrow. Wasn't really on my radar but looks great.

Sorry to take it back to pre-order/delivery/delivered! chat
