I have a "regular" TE and I love it.

I have no reason to get one but I'd love a Round 2 stick as well. I wish I'd grabbed one of the original TEs when they recently dropped in price on Gamestation (I think it was them). Is anyone selling them off cheap still?

Argh, I hate the wait. I put 3 hours into SF3 last night, to alleviate the pain of the wait for SSF4. Didn't help for long... maybe 5 mins? :P

As for modding the TE, anyone done it? I worry about buggering it up unlike any other mod I've done, as I worship that stick and would cry real tears if I hurt it.

I'm modding my 360 OG TE this weekend (I've opened the stick before but only to change the gate which is a five mine job), changing the buttons to the seimetsu skelly buttons and bubble stick top and rewiring some of the buttons so it goes in this order

LT X Y LB

RT A B RB

I'm doing that because the trigger buttons had an issue with the PCB (only on some of them so you don't need to panic about it happening to you!) where they stop working now and again and you have to reconnect the stick. It can be easily fixed by just moving the trigger buttons to buttons you don't use ( I use the last six- I know, I'm weird) so will be doing that. Will let you know how it goes but it is nothing to worry about. Everything is relatively simple and easy to do, you just have to take your time when doing stuff like taking the QD wires out and getting the buttons out. If you have the right tools and a bit of patience you cannot mess it up.

There are plenty of youtube and pic tutorials- all very easy to follow.

Cool, I have some videos and info on options with dealing with art change. What I might do is make the first post a super massive huge first post filled with all the info on what sticks are there to get on each system and how to mod them.

Arcade sticks :P

I really want to mod my TE stick but i just can't bring myself to open it. Some of this talk is giving me second thoughts about promising myself i never would...

There's not much to it, I opened mine up for the first time last night, it's just a couple of screws and the top pops off like a lid.

Took pics right away not even 2 mins after I opened it up, should have taken the little bit of dust it got from the box first but was too excited- trust me in the flesh it fucking gorgeous- twice as sexy as the original. So glad I got it now, don't regret it a single bit. Will take proper pics with it's modded OG bro soon ;)

Thanks for the info guys, turns out I'll be able to afford at least a Mad Katz SE but having seen all the pics, sorely tempted to pony up for a Round 2 TE. I've been going fighting game crazy since my brother picked up a fightpad as well as playing a bunch of old arcade stuff and figure if I'm going to go for a proper stick now, I may as well go the whole hog. ;)

Just used the Round 2 on HDR.

It's gorgeous, the stick actually feels a teeny bit smoother than my original TE on the 360 ;) might have worn that out a bit! Makes no real diff to execution but it does feel more new.

Can't believe I got it half price from RRP due to a tear in the damn box that you can't even see unless you open it. The stick itself was untouched ;)

Go for it dude- the justification will be met by the pride of owning one alone. Let alone how awesome the sticks are themselves and how many hours use you'll potentially get out of them

No job after Tuesday but these pictures are making me really want a Round 2 TE. Would give me license to mod my original one...theres some nice looking mods in here too...

thirded. hearing you guys go on about getting a second stick just makes the whole notion seem a little more legitimate to me, which is definitely not something i need.

my third (second replacement) TE is out for delivery today. i, meanwhile, am sitting at work. hopefully i can get it rearranged to come tomorrow...

i actually feel pretty attached to the old stick. we've had some good times together over the last year. it almost feels wrong to send him back just because there's a tiny little fault. i'm pretty sure this is just the "have two sticks!" impulse talking, though.

Is there a particular Good Place to go to for a TE stick currently?

Or to word the question another way, if you were to cough up for a TE tomorrow where would you look and how much would you expect to pay?

Dangerous goddamn hobby. Buying two massive nice sticks has some justification if you own both 360/PS3- even that reasoning is thin though considering most folk play on 360 here. So I thought yeah, that would be it. Is it? Is it fuck. I'm keeping my eyes out for a VSHG one day (a very far away day judging by how much cash I'd need) :) And maybe a HRAP EX-SE. Goddamit.
