Anyone know if the button/PCB issues on the TE were sorted for the 'Round 2' sticks? I think I'd prefer the sturdiness of the 'Round 2', but I'll purchase an 'S' if I can avoid reliability issues.

Apparently the Round 2s are exactly the same as the original run (other than the artwork and the colour of the external plastic). However I'm sure I also heard someone mention that people were already reporting the same PCB issues with the 'S' sticks anyway, so you might want to read up on that before buying.

Hmm, seems there's a few grumbles on SRK concerning the roundhouse button on some 'S' sticks. I guess that's Madcatz for you. I'll just go for whatever stick (Round 2 / S) I can get delivered for tomorrow cheapest.

even if you do end up having trouble with a button or two, you can always do what uzi did and switch the connections for those buttons with whichever two buttons you use the least (uzi doesn't use PPP or KKK). it's really easy - literally the hardest part of opening up my TE stick was buying an allen key that fit (7/64 of an inch) because it meant leaving the house.

besides which it's not like it's something that happens constantly, and it's not even a problem with every stick.

i would say get the original TE if you can because it's beautiful, but i will assume you have eyes of your own and let you make that judgement for yourself.

That's a good idea, and I don't expect to have a faulty stick - just pre-purchase jitters. I have to say, looking at some real shots of the 'S', I'm feeling the compact style....

Finally finished my 360 and Sanwa mod for my DC stick. It's a bit rough around the edges mainly the plexi cover, but always something I can do again in the future or buy one, plus I need to find a better printer to do the artwork on. First time doing this though so overall I'm pretty pleased with the outcome, it's a nice solid heavy thing.

Have to admit when I got the buttons and stick I did think well they're quite nice but that's about it. But had a quick play with SFIV on the PC and I can now really see the difference with the buttons, such an improvement over the DC buttons and the 360 pad which I've been using up until now. Have to say the stick doesn't feel like a massive difference so far. Can't pull a Cannon Strike off to save my life though, but guess that will come with getting used to using a stick. Looking forward to trying it out with SSFIV tomorrow.

That's a damn nice stick. Well done.

I'm desperately hoping mine gets here for tomorrow. The fella I'm buying it from said he'd post today, but the money hasn't cleared so he's waiting on that. I sent him links to my feedback and stuff in the hope that he'll send it out today because having to play on a pad is fucking my first day with Super right up.

I'll post some pics once it gets here.

Thank you

Yeah I did the plexi myself, used the metal plate as a template to cut it out and then used a Dremel (which has been so useful and made this much easier to do) to cut out the holes. At the moment I've still got the metal face plate on underneath, I think this plexi is a bit too thin to go on it's own. Just found this place on ebay which looks ideal to buy sheets of it and is cheap, might get a thicker piece to try in the future.

Decided to give my SE to my brother than than sell it- would have only made around £24ish after delivery anyway. So gonna be modding another stick- gonna keep the white/black colour scheme as I think its quite nice and I already have the old buttons from my TE but gonna defo get a JLF in there soon and get those icky MC parts out.

Since my GF realised the reason she doesn't get on with fighting games is the pad I decided to give her my old SE. I couldn't let it stand as just an SE so now it has all Sanwa parts in a green / black colour scheme (green w/ black surround for main buttons. Black w/ green surround for the other two). It surprised me really how utterly painless it was to change it over and it looks really nice now. Having the buttons in at the same time made me realise just how much better they were.

On the topic of sticks, moving from PS3 to 360 I've also switched from Madcatz SE to TE. I couldn't get to grips with sitting the SE on my lap at all, just felt too small and my frantic mashing would move the little thing all over the place so I constructed a 'secure' little table for it that I sat in front of me.

Now with the TE, that baby's right on my lap where it should be. But the muscle memory of my arms is fucking up transitioning from a stick that's 12 inches aghead of me and at knee height to this new stick which sits pride of place above my crotch. I keep jumping when I attempt to move neutral-forward and the buttons feel a lot closer to the stick and stuff. Gonna take a while to adjust I think! My Viper SJC-BKs are going f'ing nutso.

I have somehow lost the grey adapter that comes with the original TE arcade sticks (360), that lets you plug the headset into the arcade stick. Does anyone know where i can get one or something that will let me use my headset?

I want to get on the lobbies with voice!

Near mint TE Stick I bought on NTSC-UK. I had the Red ball and 3 buttons left over from my other stick so I put them in just to see what the TE was like inside. I've got artwork ready to print and plexi on the way just need to order some new buttons and a bubble top. I'll post some pics when I finish modding it properly.

ha awesome. Out of interest why do so many people take out buttons 7 and 8?

Hmm, pretty much because it isn't arcade faithful to have 8 buttons or just to take away the possibility of accidentally hitting them with your little finger.

Gonna buy my first stick ever today. Understandably, it will take some getting used to as I've only ever performed quarter circles on a dpad my entire life.

I'm gonna treat myself to the top-of-the-line...what would you guys recommend? (PS3 btw)
