Can someone please link me an Octo Gate for my TE. I've heard Gremlins ebay site is quicker than dealing with them direct, is this true?

Thanks in advance!

Hey Curtis.

In my opinion the Sanwa octo gate is rubbish. It feels like a big empty hole instead of the clearly defined 8 directions you get with a square gate.

I was quite surprised with how crap the Octo gate is and quickly went back to the square.

Quick question for the Stick professionals - I have a 360 SF4 fighting stick (not tournamanet one) but the stick isnt working properly, when I push up, up/left it sometimes doesnt work. Is there an easy way to fix / clean it, or how easy is it to replace the stick unit? It was sitting in the back room for a few months out of the box so thinking it might be dust.

it's pretty easy to get the stick out and have a look at it - check out kloid's post above for guidance (post 1743) on getting into it. should be able to get it open and take a look at the stick, fiddle with it a bit. i think you just need a screwdriver.

replacing the stick is as simple as taking it out just the same and popping a shiny new one in. again, kloid's post links to all the instructions and he's even listed somewhere to buy the replacement stick (which will be better quality than the one you've got, and isn't exactly prohibitively expensive).

The worry though - if it's registering some of the directional inputs and not others - is that it's not a stick issue, but a PCB (circuit board) one.

I don't really know anything about that, but my guess would be that it's a far trickier fix - and a far trickier thing to test.

Ooh! Blipwoo's stick looks lovely! I don't know how much time i spend fantasizing about changing the art around on my SE. Probably a reasonable amount of time.

I had another button swap-around to get rid of my annoying unresponsive jab button. Unable to tech = losses. I don't know how much longer my ramshackle stick is gonna hold out!

Is anyone in the South West area (I'm in Bristol) interested in a 360 TE stick?

I'm getting rid of all my console stuff as it's become too cluttered and distracting, and I'm moving house soon so I need to get shot of as much stuff as possible. It's in good condition, all fully working and well looked after. Original box too, of course. I'm looking for £60 for it, I can mail it but the weight of it will bump the price up. PM me if interested :(

Morrius I would rather Joffo had first dibs on this stick but if he doesn't show any interest then give me a PM and I may take it off you hands.

If you could check postage to London but don't think that would be a deal breaker.

You are a gent, Mr Funs.

Alas, I cannot afford it, so you go right ahead.

Hello everyone I recently purchased a PS3 SE street fighter stick and for some reason after only 24 hours of use the HK button only works when it wants to and thats never in a critical situation on ssf4.As I'm completely rubbish at fixing things i wondered if any of you kind people would be nice enough to fixmod my stick of course i'd pay postage/your time and the parts cost so please let me know if you'ld be willing to help me out.

If the stick's new just send it back. If not; can't speak for the SE but the TE is ludicrously easy to mod, basically if you can change a lightbulb you should be able to swap the hard kick button with something else. Take a look on youtube or shoryuken, there's a lot of good tutorials out there. then you can spend the money you save on some additional stick pimpage^_^

Might be the PCB issue, although I didn't think that it was confirmed on the PS3 versions. Does unplugging it and then plugging it back in solve the problem? If it does, it's a PCB issue, and the only solution is to rewire the buttons so that you swap the R2 and L1 buttons around.

So what are the Super Street Fighter IV TE sticks like then? Thanks to Toronto airport I had to leave my TE stick behind in Canada when I came back to the UK so I need to get a new stick :omg: Saw these on Shopto for £100 which seems reasonable. Any real differences to the previous models?

Ok, so... changing the art on an SE then. Does it just peel off? And if I use my rubbish drawing skills to desgin something (i.e. copy and paste and image), how should I best go about getting it on there? Is there a standard material I should print onto then just glue it down? I think someone said something about ink rubbing off sometimes.

I'm thinking about maybe making a black and white Grim Fandango stick; pretty much all black apart from Manny Calavera in a dinner jacket. The other option would be Rufus, maybe pink. Or a toxic dump themed stick, with lots of toxic dump stuff and colours like toxic greens and yellows and corroding, spilt barrels and overflow pipes and reddened river edges and backward baseball caps and spraypainted vandalism in spiky purple lettering saying "RAD!" and "FREAK OUT!".

Just got a first edition TE stick as a present :)

But the L2 button doesn't work. So, uh, what options do I have for this? It was a really nice present (wasn't expecting it at all) and I'd rather if I could sort it out myself rather than bug the person who got it for me. Which means something other than a return?

Note: I am incredibly cack handed and I live in London.

It's the SE I have, but I believe it should be just as easy to sort as the SE; open the back up, take the two connectors off the button, squeeze it's sides to pop it out, then pop in the replacement and reconnect the two connector things.

If you don't wannt buy a replacement button you could just switch it out for one of the buttons on the far right, which you'll likely be using very little. Again, it's just a matter of popping them out and swapping them around.

EDIT: these are the buttons you need: http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/products...pushbuttons.htm

Being cackhanded is fine, I did it no problem. :)

My original tournament fightstick (360), has an issue where RT and LT stop working and it needs an unplug/replug to fix. This has just happened TWICE in the space of 20 minutes.

I know that PCB issues are rife with this stick, but is there a replacement PCB / fix?

How have people go on with returns to madcatz?
