Is anyone else interested in one of these?

apparently Daigo helped design it - it's weightier, and larger than a TE. Apparently you can screw two together to mimick a side by side viewlix setup as well. I'm not so sure about all the visible shiny screws, and the price is a little steep at £159.99. I think I could get on board when the second wave comes out (hopefully with nicer artwork), or if it goes down to around £100.

If you're happy to spend £100 then you have several awesome options: if I was shopping now I'd be torn between some variation of the Madcatz TE, a Hori RAP VX SA, and the Qanba Q4. There's not really a wrong choice out of those three.

Edit: I guess €100 is slightly less than £100, but I'm not sure how it works out.

Are you in Spain or is your username a cunning misdirection?

First thing to check for, Amsterdamkiller: if it is fitting with Sanwa buttons and a Sanwa joystick (or Seimitsu parts according to personal preference).

Second thing: if the buttons and stick are fitted via "quick disconnects" or instead soldered directly. Quick disconnects are better because it makes swapping in new buttons ridiculously easy if that proves necessary.

After that it's pretty much just a question of what else you want - what the build quality is like, if anyone's reported any serious issues, how much space there is to rest your hand, whether it is PC compatible, how awesome it looks, etc.

Yes - all three of the ones I listed do. I don't think your Hori DOA4 has Sanwa parts or quick disconnects. Someone here could probably still tell you how to swap the dodgy parts out, though, if you were so inclined.

If you want to change the art then a TE's probably a good choice. It's not so hard to do and I think there are sites that will sell you high quality prints and plexiglass covers and all that.

I live in Amsterdam; my name is but a horrible pun on the fact that I'm half Spanish and my favorite metal song is 'Painkiller' by Judas Priest.

And here I was thinking all this time that you really liked the game Painkiller! I was like yeah that is a great game, and I guess it's kinda metal in terms of atmosphere so it fits. Anyway I bought a TE back when SF4 came out and it's the best stick I've ever owned. I can only agree with everyone else's recommendations. They're getting hard to find here in in my neck of the woods though, at least in brick and mortar shops...

I'm in the market for a new stick. Anyone have any recommendations for a good possibly sanwafied 360 stick? Nothing ridiculously expensive pls.

Alternatively I already have a sanwa stick and buttons ready to slot into another stick. Which models can I do a nice easy swap? I don't fancy a big project.

Doesn't appear to be available at that price on 360 anywhere. I've just been searching around for a stick this morning. Remember the times when cheap TEs were appearing pretty often? I kinda want one. Or maybe one of those etokki sticks would be worth it? I'm wondering whether or not there will be a load of sticks appearing on the cheap nearer to the 360's end, or if they'll retain their value due to being USB and PC compatible?

I don't really need a stick, obviously.

I think it's simply a matter of making do with whatever kind of controller you happen to have and eventually getting used to it. Isn't there some Rufus player on this very forum who manages to dominate using a pad (helped by some physical intimidation of course)? I also prefer charge characters but back in the day when SF2 just came out I started with the shotos in the arcades (man, back then there were loads of arcades in Amsterdam... but between 1999 and 2001 or so they all transformed into gambling dens, it was sad to see :( ) and it wasn't until I got my hands on the SNES versions that I started playing charge characters. So I got used to playing charge characters with a pad and found it difficult to transfer those skills and timings to a stick at first, regardless of any octo or square gate differences.

Even if most people prefer square gates for charge characters, if Spainkiller happened to have sticks with an octo gate at hand then he would have gotten used to playing it that way. It's not that weird, and give him a month or two and he'll have gotten used to the square gate no doubt.

One thing I think would improve this is how long it leaves the completed picture onscreen once you've guessed it. There's a real compulsion to guess as soon as you know the answer, but then you don't get to really appreciate the other person's efforts.

I had an absolutely magic picture of Samus drawn for me to guess Metroid, but because I guessed it too quick it was gone in a flash :( I've taken to putting all but the last letter in, if I know what it is, just so I can see more of the finished picture!

Would be nice to be able to look back through previous pics, too.
