Just to be clear - there's no "level editor" or anything like that, he just started with one of the normal tables and arranged it like that by taking shots? That is astonishing.

Yep. Even we don't have a level editor. Levels are built with script commands (well Objective C method calls I should say). What he's done is perfectly possible, the main trick is to sacrifice lives to shift stuff around. It still takes a shed load of planning and skill to achieve anything like that. It's beyond anything I've seen before.

The Bard's Tale is £1.50 at the moment. seems a fun enough romp, despite the upscaling they're using for the poor old ipad 1. Also comes with the first two original games for free, with the third one on the way, so that's a hell of a lot of game for your money.

Tiny Bang story is 69p at the moment as well, which is also quite good.

I'm enjoying Bards Tale, played about an hour or so and it seems like a fun little action RPG.

A few podcasts have mentioned board games being cool on the iPad

As a beginner, where should I start? (I've played the likes of monopoly but nothing remotely hardcore)

There are loads, but to start with I'd recommend Ticket To Ride, Carcasonne, and for fun local co-op multiplayer, the iOS port of Forbidden Island is really well done.

Rebuild is a lot of fun. Notched up about five hours on it. Cost $2.99.

I figure if I get more than two hours with a game for that price then it is well worth it

Yup, Rebuild is ace...I've 'completed' it about six times now.

Can anyone reccomend/find a list of games which aren't compatible with original and 3G iPhones? I'm just upgrading to a 4 and I'm sure theres lots of stuff I've not been able to get before? I've got GarageBand, Clear Vision and Infinity Blade on my list.

Not a new one, but I'm enjoying 100 Rogues, it's a bit rough around the edges, although that might be an IPad 3 thing, but it's a solid, very accessible rogue like which doesn't make your eyes bleed.

Bought Forbidden Island on your recommendation, am looking forward to trying it round a mates' place in the next few days. From the description, sounds like an Indiana Jones sequence over a whole game.

Bored at work the other day and looked up some lists of best iphone games. Discovered Whale Trail which is excellent, fun arcade mode and a really taxing mission mode, plus mad bubblegum graphics and music by Gruff Rhys of the Super Furries. Recommend.

Also ta whoever said Lost Winds, I got stuck a bit early on but now I'm enjoying it. Gentle niceness.

That's a great guide! How do you film something like that, is there some sort of recording function on the phone/ipad?

Not sure to be honest. It might be done using the video mirroring thing the ipad can do with HDMI adaptor and captured using some sort of electronic gubbins.

We make our videos the old fashioned way with a camcorder.

Best iPad specific TD games anyone please? I have loads of iPhone TD games, but want something native to enjoy on my new iPad.

It's annoying that you can't browse game apps by genre when using the app store from an iPad.

Edit: Aha, you can search by subcategory.

I see Sid's Pirates is out on iPhone now as well as iPad.

Anyone have any experience of the iPad one? Always wanted to play it but not sure how it'll play on the tiny iPhone screen!

I've not played it, but I'm sure it'll be fine, it was fine on PSP.
