There is iAP I'm afraid, and it's all the usual 'buy this to double all the gold you earn' or buying new skills.

Maybe it's just me not really being into levelling up type games but it seems pretty messy to me, there's way too much stuff going on, buttons to press and numbers to build up. I got to a point where I couldn't get out of a corner and was being told to use a tile swap power up but couldn't work out how to get the power up to work, I double tapped on a tile and then got attacked and killed.

I guess the guy has bills to pay.

Kingdom Rush: Frontiers is out, unfortunately it's not universal but don't let that deter you. It's more of the same for the first few levels but it just started to get interesting. Sequel to one of the best iOS DTD games out there? Be rude not to...

Just completed the idol of Mork black dungeon quest in WHQ having run out of healing items about half way through and relied on keeping the wizard alive in a corner to resucitate where necessry. Wave after wave of black orc patrols and one slightly different section, lots of traps too. Excellent stuff, got a good rhythm going and by the end it was relatively comfortable, but a lot of restocking to do before I tackle the other black dungeon.

I would say yes if you enjoy it, although its largely very similar in gameplay terms (and quite easy too since red dungeons start again at level 2). There are one or two timed sections and other slight twists on the basic template, which make it a little more varied than before, and you might get some useful items for your team. From the name of one if the achievements and something which happens at the end of the black dungeon, i think there must be a further expansion available in future to open up the southern section of the map, and hopefully increase the level cap.

So as someone who's just come into possession of a shiny retina Ipad I've obviously grabbed Final Fantasy Tactics and Star Wars: KOTOR, but are any of the older Final Fantasy games worth getting, III, IV or V? I've never played any of them before, so which one if any?

Enjoying Kingdom Rush Frontiers, I'm playing on casual and still getting bummed by the horde. Any tips?

Upgrade your towers carefully before the battle. If you are stuck on a level go back to old levels you just grazed through and get more upgrade stars by completing them perfectly this time - it is easier the second time around because you have upgraded towers now. Also, I like to stick a wizard tower as my last line of defense because they can push enemies back a bit.

Kingdom Rush Frontiers is great!

Someone linked to the free browser version of this on facebook (I think). I randomly clicked the link and ended up playing it for ages.

The game plays really well on iPad. It's a tad grindy but I'm enjoying replaying each level till I get ***. Not sure if I'm working out strategies of just getting more upgrades/items whatever.

Build an artillery towers near your barracks so they target enemies when they're clumped in melee combat. I've started using the mages and archers as a corridor of death leading to that (although it's worth keeping a powered up Mage tower with whirlwind near the exit).

It's also worth remembering that upgrading or selling and rebuilding a barracks(if your can take the coin hit) will spawn the 3 soldiers instantly for that tower rather then waiting for them to spawn naturally if you have had a couple/all your soldiers from that tower killed

I played the old one to death. The later levels on that normally had a split between sides of the map that were magic resistant and those that were armoured. So you would place magrs to attack the armoured knights and archers to get the magic resistant demons.

Then build up the bombards to fire rockets and help take down flying beasts and I also liked the upgrade that turned barracks into Vikings so they could throw axes.

I'm only a few levels into this but loving it so far
