It really is a crock of shit that no private chat thing. Take out the fucking nuke, it adds nothing to the game.

On a less ranty note, I unlocked the M21 EBR sniper last night. You know when something just clicks - I went 32/3 with it on Wasteland, got a 17 killstreak. I never get that sort of ratio. So pleased.

I thought mercenary TDM had party chat on it?

To be honest I've never had a problem with that. If I'm playing I only want to speak to the people on my team. Speaking to friends on the other team is daft. If I wanted to play something like that I just set up a private match.

Cant agree there. If you want to boost nuke you can still private chat or mute everybody who isnt on your friends list.

I thought it forced it to game chat only? So no private or party chat? If not then it is a pile of crock.

It's not about that. It's about being able to chat with multiple other friends, who are perhaps playing other games, while you are playing MW2. You can't do that without party chat.

Id never play the game again if they reset my XP. Punishing me (level 61/55 hours) because some tosser has got his way to prestige 10 by cheating really isnt the way to handle this. They should punish the fuckers who are cheating though, they have a record of all the stats and they certainly have the money to employ staff to go through those records. This should extend to the people stupid enough to put their gamertag on Youtube of them cheating.

I'd normally say that IW should punish the cheaters, but with this glitch I don't think they can. I've been in a few of these matches. I left as soon as I noticed, but still, if there's any sort of record, then I'd be on it.

I suppose you could look at the stats and trap anyone that's levelled up quickly, but I doubt that they'd be able to really handle a task like that. The numbers are huge.

I suppose this is something that over time will even itself out, fix the glitches and let everyone carry on. Eventually we'll all be high prestige and things will be normal. The leaderboards will probably forever be screwed though, maybe they should reset them every month and have more of a current representation of play, that way all past glitching will have no part in the world rankings.

Ahh.

It's probably out of IW's hands for the best fix there, which would be to allow party chat for people outside of your current match.

Here's some pre-news

"@fourzerotwo: Preparing an in depth #MW2 Status Report. Lots of updates in works"

Lets see how Rob does his job now. The easy part of selling the game has been done, now he has to please a lot of disgruntled players.

I reckon if people are finding it genuinely fun, then IW should open up the private match options more to allow this sort of stuff to be played out.

I like playing private matches with friends for head shots and shit, but I find it's a shame that you can't restrict and edit the rules that much. You can't do the knifes only, or grenades only rules.

They should fix the glitch and open up the rule set more in private matches. That way people can have their fun machine gunning noob tubes and the like, without spoiling the proper experience for everyone else.

Two FFA games in a row ended after 90 seconds due to people nuking the room. It was a different person who got the nuke both times, and it seemed that the person who was being their tactical insertion target was quitting out of the game before the nuke got called in. Its fucking annoying. The Nuke adds nothing to the game. It should never have been put in. I have been nuked five times now, all five down to cheaters. I wonder what the ratio of legit to boosted nukes is?

I've had a few legit nukes. On some maps, with the right killstreaks and a little bit of luck they're really not that hard to get.

It's a shame people cheat to get them. There'd be a simple fix, making kills from people who've just spawned from a tactical insertion not count towards a nuke.

Either that, or putting a 30 second spawn limit on tactical insertions. Maybe a 30 second cooldown on dropping one, that persists throughout death?

Now I've seen the nuke in action a few times. I'm not sure I see the point of it really.

It feels like something that should be seen once every few months and be a big wow moment for everyone, but it's not the case. I've not had a 25 kill streak myself, but lots of others seem to have little trouble getting 25 within a minute or so.

If anything emp's should wipe them out. Something like a nuke needs a response so that even when it's been claimed there's still a chance for the other team to react.

But the EMP wouldnt stop people using tactical insertions to get nukes, which is really the big problem with them. A legit nuke is a cool thing and I love the idea of it. Its just undermined completely by people being able to join a game and manipulate one with use of tactical insertions.

Your all being harsh as f**k IMO. My son is going to count his first ever nuke as one of his greatest gaming achievements. He rang me just to tell me. Same thing happened with his second. Had a hyper 13 yr old ringing me last Friday night. I witnessed it myself Sunday afternoon and it's something he worked hard to achieve. He's not a glitcher or cheater either

Is this infinite ammo glitch going on only in those bloody Rust Ground War games or is it on all the other maps ?

It pretty easy once your party drops into a Rust FFA to just back out but if this shit is on everything thats really bad news.

^ don't think so, as I just joined a game of Merc TDM on Wasteland and someone was firing infinite UGL rounds.

I agree with Isaac - custom public gametypes are great fun, and a special seperate playlist or something would be a good idea. Then you could choose to get a surprise game.

Right now it's annoying if you just want a normal game and you get dropped into a glitching one (although maybe this happens to some more often than others). Sure you can drop out but you shouldn't have to over and over when someone else is causing the problem.

I've never understood why they don't have a private/custom match search. Halo does, I think? Most 360 games do actually.

Halo3 does not have searchable private/custom/forge matches.

This is the single most retarding thing about Halo 3.

All that customisation rendered completely redundant.

The PS3 is surprisling free of actual in game glitching from the daily TDM, Domination/CTF that I play. There a good few glitched 10 prestiges but they're just icons. Haven't come across anything serious bar a few javelin glitches before that was taken out

Harsh?

Getting a nuke the proper way is fine, however I think that 25 kills is too low a number to reach. In CoD 4 i don't think it would have been, but in this one I've seen tons of people get higher than 25 kills without dying or cheating. I personally feel that a nuke should be something that takes months to see, a real once in a blue moon surprise.

Actually as it's a game ender, it would be quite cool to perhaps limit it to team games and have the nuke only unlock when a number of team members get 25 kill streaks or something like that.

However it's done, the tactical insertion cheat tactic needs stopping. If I seen something like that happen I usually spend my match trying to stop it, just as that Wings guy mentioned in one of his vids. The new game turns into stop the nukers.

I'd prefer it if it was 25 kills but if half those kills are the same guy you don't get it.

Then if you do pull the trigger you've got to stay alive until it hits (RUN AND HIDE!).

The second you die it lets off an emp against the enemy team, a stun grenade effect for everyone (or just the enemy) and a mapful of smoke.

Custom games i think would be cool, but remove them from the ranking, don't let folks milk them for xp.

I'm sorry in advance and I don't want to come over all Daily Mail here, but-

It's amazing that your 13 year old son was so "hyper" after nuking people in an 18 rated videogame based on war?

Unreal.

Why? It's cassidy's decision, as his father, whether he thinks it right to allow his 13 y/o son to play it. None of your business.

He has come on a bit defensive though- the nuke is an abused mechanic of the game and that's what people were complaining about. It's all very good that his 13yr old got a nuke, but er...so what? What's that go to do with the fact that people cheat in games to get it- that was the main issue
