The whole killstreak thing is fucked too. Take them away and people would barely be able to rack up 6 or 7 kills, and the amount of games finished early with a fucking nuke, or games that are totally unplayable because of the endless barrage of airstrikes and aerial support, is insane.

I don't understand at all how the game is supposed to be balanced, COD4 was better for it. I got a kill streak of 18 on Favela yesterday and 8 or 9 of them were done from the comfort of a remote position away from the battle.

Not even going to mention the shotguns. Scope then fire, pretty much guaranteed instant kill every time.

... Clueless ...

I've not had a game ended by a nuke for weeks.

If the enemy is calling in air support just pull out the stinger and take care of it. That has netted me a nice windfall of xp in the past.

Up close and in tight maps - hell yeah i'd expect a shottie to do the business. However in an open stretch or courtyard you will get pegged in the head from midrange before you can get more than a couple of broad shots off at them,

Horses for courses. There's a counter to everything.

Something really needs to be done about the grenade launcher with Danger Close and One Man Army. I just got two nukes without firing a single bullet. One on Terminal, one on Invasion. Pop out of cover, fire a random shot, pop out, fire a random shot, reload your kit, repeat until Harriers. Ridiculous.

There are a lot of imbalances in this game, but that's a big 'un. Don't know how you could fix it though, maybe make it so OMA only reloads your primary weapon or something. I dunno. It's a really nasty combo as it is.

Just finished the SP campaign on Veteran, what a bitch that was!

I Didn't quite understand why

Shepherd became a traitor though? As for Makarov, I'll see you in MW3 mother fucker.

And is it just me or did anyone think Shepherd was really an autobot? He sounds just like Optimus Prime. :bye:

Which is the big problem with the balance in this game. New players are mincemeat to those who've unlocked the good perks, killstreak rewards and weapon attachments. Not exactly the best way to entice people to stick around.

One of the default classes needs to be an anti-air support one. With cold blooded and stingers.

With the AA-12, shoot from the hip every time. If you need/have time to ADS you're using the wrong gun.

I figured as much. Never used the shotguns that much, but I enjoy mixing things up from time to time.

And what's the prefered attachment, a grip or FMJ?

Having started at about a .6 k/d ratio (never having played COD4) this is all really clicking now. I can read what's happening much better (you can guess where the enemy will be just from watching where your team are on radar most of the time) and now I know the maps it's so much easier coming round a corner to just go "check that corner, check that rooftop, check that doorway, fine" whereas when you start it's all overwhelming and feels as if they could be anywhere. Have developed a habit of getting kills by lying down next to cars and shooting people in the knees when I know they're coming. To start with it felt like I had to run about to go and get the enemy, but now I know kills will come if I'm in the right place and have read things right. Even started to like Wasteland, going 24-0 on it the other day :P Chopper Gunner is so much fun.

I just unlocked the RPG, is that any good?

What a pansy. Once again I'll say it, people who moan about unfairness in TDM because they're alone and playing with randoms should play FFA.

I do agree with him about killstreaks though, they should be locked to weapon kills only. It would make things more interesting I think.

Have developed a habit of getting kills by lying down next to cars and shooting people in the knees when I know they're coming. To start with it felt like I had to run about to go and get the enemy, but now I know kills will come if I'm in the right place and have read things right.

As you get to know the maps more you'll be wanting to run about first I would think - you'll get to know where the opposing side start on the maps and want to get the drop on them early. Waiting for them to come to you isn't necessarily the best option (unless you have a team to back you up) :facepalm:

I started to use the ACR last night and unlocked the red dot for it although I'll stick with the 'nade launcher attachment for now. Hasn't affected by accuracy having changed from the FAMAS with silencer equipped as the percentage has shot up to 23.26% Getting more wins in Merc TDM has helped my ratio go up too. K:D ratio however is at a steady 1.30...

I disagree. With the slow reloading of the grenade launcher and it's uselessness up close etc, you are vulnerable to any other players in the vicinity that you don't kill with the first shot. Like everything else in the game, if the opposing team are up to scratch, it is balanced.

Not speaking to you directly now, but there is so much complaining about the game that is unwarranted. Every weapon and perk and tactic has a counter. I don't even agree with the UAV/Heartbeat sensor/vulnerability to aircraft complaints. Heartbeat sensor users skulk about slowly and are easily dealt with, it only takes a few hours to get the stinger and ninja and it's one of the prices you pay for prestiging.

The game is what it is, and it's pretty amazing exactly as it is. No class, perk, tactic or weapon annoys me. I'm happy for them to do their thing and me to do mine. My steadily increasing K/D ratio says my choices are winning.

Except the dirty scopes of course. They really need to clean them. :facepalm:

Yep, I agree with all of this. I think if you're complaining about an unfairness in any set up, you're probably not as good as you think you are. And even if you're the best player in the whole world, you're still going to get spanked by somebody else from time to time.

So pointing a really powerful close range weapon straight at someone from close range kills them!? Sorry for the sarcasm but the complaint above is just silly. The powerful assault rifles kill in two shots and the cost of taking a shotgun means you can't take another secondary weapon, coupled with the fact they take a while to switch to. Plus they're short range. It's balanced.

I've been taken out and taken people out from distances not particularly considered 'close'. Those akimbo ones in particular.

Sleight of Hand Pro makes reloading the launcher faster though, although I agree it's rubbish up close unless you shoot someone directly in the face/ body.

Anyone know whether the ACR benefits from the Shotgun attachment or shall I not bother with the 'nade launcher Challenge? :facepalm:

Oh, yeah, I do move, but when I started playing I'd be in a good place, wait ten seconds and then think "no-one's coming!" and get bored and go somewhere else, whereas now I can generally tell if it's somewhere the enemy will come through. It was all the Goldeneye making me charge about. I've deliberately slowed things down in TDM now because if you're dying more than scoring you're a liability (it's working in general, though on the tight maps you have to just get stuck in).

Interestingly, my friend with the best k/d and win ratio has the lowest accuracy (by miles) and I think that since I've got better I'll more often get kills with speculative or long-range shots, so my accuracy's dropped but I'm a better player.

So, I've reached level 70 and now I'm debating whether to go and Prestige or not. Taken me about 2 and half days playtime to get to 70 and not sure I want to go back to having basic guns etc.

You don't really get anything in return when you Prestige apart from extra callsigns/emblems unlocked right?

I think you get another custom class slot.

Things I hate-

-Ninja and Cold Blooded need to be availble from the start

-Shotguns need a speed penalty

-Grenade Launchers need to stop being resupplied with ammo

-K/D needs to be taken away. People should be working towards score not kills.

I'd actually like a graph charting k/d since the start, because while I don't care about it overall but it'd be nice to see improvement. It'd be good if there was some kind of team-player rating to go with it too, because playing Domination I'll be off capturing/defending points and half of my team-mates seem to be camping for kills even when we're losing.
