The Techno Thread

And on that tip....

- another piece of filtered techno with a superb hammond stab - an amazing track as the kick drum is there but off beat - and it doesn't drive the track (The Guitar Lick does).

If you try to start the track off the beat in your head....you can't. It doesn't work. Fucking amazing use of compression.

(i only chose that the trainspotter in me new Dave Angel did a looped remake!)

Also worth a check is...

I couldn't find Secret Society by KSR....another great looping filtered funk-techno track.

Anyway....Claude Young's intro to The Third Wave LP on Astralwerks....

Despite the technique being overdone, its done in a Pure Detroit vibe right there.

Listening to all this tech again reminds me...i must redo the mills mix - something more special then my previous effort.

Derrick May used to play this out....fucking amazing once the kicks come in as their tuned...well....discordantly i guess.

Was supposed to make my Noise Generator 2 mix but i lost the whole 3 hour mix.....bad news.

This is exactly the kind of Techno I was asking for, cheers. Sorry to hear you lost your mix - how did it happen? The Noise Generator is the old rave stuff isn't it?

Reading through the comments on this, it's an early production by Moby?!? I know he was into his Rave and stuff but didn't realise he was capable of A-Grade Acid Techno.

Well, i can't say much about that. I've heard it once on an old Beltram mixtape.

But Next is the E (Victory Edit) is pure energy too. IMO it stomps over every other version by miles - certainly the best thing he's ever done.
