And now the rest of the boycotters are calling them traitor sellouts and so on. Amazing scenes.

Last comment: "I hope you guys told Valve they are also jackasses for the BS they pulled on the TF2 community. "

I don't know, I'm not one the TF2 staff or anything but made me RAGE just by reading it; TF2 has probably been one of the best games ever for listening to the community and updating accordingly. Not to mention all of the free content which has probably quadrupled (if not more) the longetivity of the the original (low price) release.

People are shit.

@Mouser: No, we didn't pay for flights or hotels, and we are fully aware of how that looks. however, anybody who has had to spend more than 2 hours in an airplane can tell you it's no treat. Nor is getting the shits from different water and food in another part of the country, that's always fun.

If Valve wanted to pay us off, it would have been more effective to send a cheque attached to an NDA agreement, not making us sit in airports and planes for 20+ hours in 2 days.

Well boo ****-ing hoo. Valve gave them the runs. Valve made them wait in an airport before their flight instead of picking them up via chopper that landed on their front lawn.

The sense of entitlement in these guys is utterly sickening. But at least I don't have the runs :)

Well personally I was a bit disappointed with how they handled the whole L4D thing, and hyped it up to be something that could be infinitely expandable 'due to the AI' and compared a plethora of upcoming updates to something akin to TF2.

But then again, they can't do that with every single piece of software they release. TF2 is the exception and the only game that seems to have constant support and more added content which is all free.

I think some people seem to forget Valve is a company, and Gabe Newell isn't their friend he is running a business.

Last I heard on the TF2 360 front, they were waiting until they'd released all the class packs until they package all the content up for the 360. But by that point it will be too late, and no one will have the Orange Box anymore.

PC/360 coming Oct 27/Nov 3.

The promised downloadable sample for Valve's zombie shooter sequel will arrive on October 27, the company confirmed tonight at an Electronic Arts event in Japan.

No other details were mentioned, leaving it unclear as to if that date applies to everyone or just those that pre-order. However, a listing from retailer game.co.uk notes "[the Xbox 360] demo will be exclusive to preorder customers up until 3rd November."

Valve previously said those who pre-ordered from "participating retailers or Steam" would snag "advanced access to the demo," with the company later adding that pre-ordering folk would also receive an exclusive melee weapon: the American baseball bat.

The PC and Xbox 360 game is due November 17. We're checking in for more details, including whether or not PC and Xbox 360 will get the demo on the same day.

  • 2 weeks later...

Pre-purchased this, can't wait til the demo. I bought the first one off amazon last time because I'm a tight bastard, but this time I want to personally experience the disappointment of trying and failing to play it on launch night when the steam servers start exploding into flames.

This wasn't mention yet:

Next public showing will be at the London Game Show where we will be showing the as of yet unannounced new game mode. We really should announce that soon... We can give you one hint, the game is 4 v 4. So get your team together and join us in London on October 29th or 30th.

Is that the Eurogamer show or something else?

L4D site.

Does anybody without real life friends with an interest in L4D2 want to group up with me to purchase the 4 pack?

Thinking about it. In fact, probably will. I doubt my Tesco 360 order will qualify me for any exclusive console demo.

So yeah, put me down for a spot if you buy a pack! Can pay immediately.

Well I don't have anyone else interested yet, but I'd definitely be up for going for the four pack if anyone else is up for it too.
