HOW DONE YOU DO IT.

I assume the melee weapons are quite important or something.

Shoot zombies in the head, not the body. A lot. Keep an eye on your team mates, don't die. I'm not an expert expert realist or anything, but I almost did Dark Carnival the other day with some German guys. So.

Dunno if anyone has noticed, but head shots with any weapon on expert realism ALWAYS result in a zombie's head exploding. Even with the silenced Uzi or whatever. Not sure why that happens, but I prefer it.

Reminding a little earlier this week: versus tonight to those interested! Get thee in the RLLMUK Steam Group chat room between 19:45 and 20:00 so I can easily invite you to a game!

I realise the TF 2 update is in full swing, so if some people want to play that, we can do a campaign or a pub. versus game instead.

Bought this on a random whim

Everyone has probably stopped playing by now, but if anyone fancies a game I'll be online tonight.

The missus is away so this is my one and only chance for a proper session, with headsets and all that good stuff

Oh and I'll be crap coz I won't have learnt the maps or new shit yet.

What in the name of fuck have they done to the difficulty?!!!!!!!!

Normal in this is like Extreme in L4D, this isn't fun at all <_<

Might have to knock it down to Easy

I'm also finding the levels really hard to figure out where to go, the level design in the first game was just sublime, this one just seems a confused mess, with poor signposting and copy & paste everywhere.

I found it rock hard at first, because I was just continually using the "hide in the cupboard" tactics from l4d1, which get you slaughtered in this. Persevere, though, and you start to see method in the madness. You have to play it in a slightly different way, never camping, which makes it a lot more fun. The pistols are next to useless, baseball bats should become your new best friend, along with the ak47 which is a complete beast.

I disagree completely about the level design being poor. Which campaign did you play? I think that parish, dark carnival and hard rain are all competely amazing. There's a bit more choice about the routes you can take which may add to the confusion. You're probably just too used to knowing all the levels off by heart or something.

I was really unsure at first, but after playing it a bit I realised that it's absolutely miles better than the original. Especially in versus.

Only played "Dead Center" to learn it

There was one section where there was a single fairly well hidden ladder as the path to the next area, took me fucking ages to find it. If that was L4D1 there would have been a light or some other subtle visual clue, but in this nadda. There was no other choice of route either

Maybe it's lack of familiarity, dunno.

it's certainly not pushing my buttons the same way the first one did

So I was playing Dark Carnival as Coach, and I got up to the final act with the rock concert. For one reason or another, I walked near the mic in which one of the Midnight Riders would sing, and Coach... started singing. It was hilarious, did anyone else notice this?
