What codec is that using? Just get audio. All the grunting and roaring is quite entertaining, though! :D

H.264. Normally I'd use XviD, but Youtube wasn't having it for some reason and it wouldn't take any number of various compression attempts I was throwing at it. And still didn't take H.264, even though it wasn't a problem with any other video. It must be because of how overly boring the video is. Yes, that's it.

VideoLAN will play it. It's the only version of it I had hosted at the time.

[EDIT - And also, you're hearing grunts and not voice because I think we were all on Vent and I forgot to record the audio. Rest assured, it was hilarious. Imagine something hilarious and play it back in between grunts!]

Normal in this is like Extreme in L4D, this isn't fun at all <_<

Might have to knock it down to Easy

I'm also finding the levels really hard to figure out where to go, the level design in the first game was just sublime, this one just seems a confused mess, with poor signposting and copy & paste everywhere.

The difficulty is just fine, normal doesn't seem any more difficult at all. I've never been able to complete a campaign on expert before on L4D1, yet I've breezed through all 5 campaigns on normal on L4D2. The new special infected prevent some of the cheap tactics seen in L4D2, but they keep you on your toes more rather than increase the difficulty much.

Additionally I honestly can't agree with you either on the signposting. I think they've done an outstanding job to get you flowing through the stages without resorting to huge arrows, using subtle things to catch your eye and characters chatter to help.

i was playing it earlier with some randoms and i just started feeling ill, dunno what happened but it was pretty sudden. probably the drinking the night before more than playing the game, but it felt like motion sickness! was a bit of a weird sensation.

I haven't been on for awhile 'cos of Christmas and all that, but I do love this game and I'll b back on soon :)

Oh and Boozy, the finales do become very difficult if you're not playing with a good team. Hit up some friends from this thread and it'll come good :(

I just got this today. I quite liked that bit too as I ran off to get the petrol cannisters and just lobbed them over the edge so the people on the ground could get them (this was on Normal though)

My hat comes off to Valve for the way they came at the finales this time around. They, in every way I can think of, have made them better, more difficult, more imaginative and more fun than the 'basic' template set out in the original game. The creativity and passion on show in this game is a rare thing indeed.

Don't know if I'm going to be on tonight - back to work tomorrow so I can't have a late one.

Played last night with some mic-less randoms last night, and it wasn't much fun :(. The joy's still there for me, but you do need to play with good people, otherwise you might as well be playing with bots! At least they don't do ridiculous things and are supernaturally efficient at sniping special infected.

i've only played each campaign once but i am loving this game, very very much. it's just so brutal it's ridiculous.

gamertag is ALI5T4RR and i'd be delighted to play if anyone sees me online. i'm not awesome!

can't imagine it being fun with bots/silent strangers - i've been playing with one friend and two bots and that's just fine.
