Microsoft Kinect

If only there was some way you could interact with games without having to move your living room about and cope with inaccurate controls etc.

Yeah, as a skeptic from day one, I can't deny that these videos look fun and I can see it appealing to the masses, but the elephant is still in the room. And by elephant I mean the sofa that I can't be bothered to move.

I urge everyone to watch Giant Bomb's Quick Look of Motion Sports when it goes live. The stream was like a rerun of this year's shambolic E3 conferences, real car crash — or should that be horse crash? — stuff.

Not to say that particular game is demonstrative of Kinect's abilities, although based on what I've seen the tech is way too flaky to consider buying, general navigation rendered teeth-gnashingly slow.

Those Giant Bomb videos are truly awful/funny. I suspected it was going to be a bit off and jittery and pointless... but flip me, that's horrible.

The tech's not quite there is it.

Running and waving your arms was amazingly funny! :D Playing the games properly are pointless, f-ing around and trying to break the game, amazing.

This whole thing is a really fascinating study in confirmation bias. Everyone has the exact same information, but all the people who like the idea of Kinect are like "See? I knew it would work!" and those who don't are all "See? I told you it would be broken!"

Yeah i've seen this in full effect over on GAF.

It's absolutely cringeworthy.
