So there's this very neat mount in Stormblood from Monster Hunter: Rathalos. It costs 50 tokens and each kill in Extreme gets you one token. Fortunately, it can be done unsynced (which means at a level 80 you get all the neat benefits from being a level 80).

Rathalos EX is not the toughest one out there if you know what to do. I encountered too many people that start with "first time here, what do I do". Rathalos can easily one shot any dps and healer, can not be tanked, healing spells are completely disabled in Phase 2 and after 3 deaths it's Game Over. It's a bit of a struggle with randoms.

So, anyone game for farming tokens :)

Requirements: at least lvl 70 to pick up the quest in Kugane, having completed Rathalos on Normal (which is easy).

The bit in the Shadowbringers MSQ when you go back to Ahm Ahraeng and spend about three hours getting a trolley working is the most egregious and blatant filler I’ve seen in this since the pre-Heavensward quests 😩

That’s literally where I am up to and I can’t believe that it made it past the cutting room floor

Ok I’m going to start again on Moogle soon so I at least know a few familiar faces!

I’m not too fussed about losing my character over on ragnorak but is there an easy way of transferring all of the gil/items from that character? Seem to just be reading conflicting info :(

You can move a character as a paid service.

but as you are on the same DC as Moogle you can be in the linkshell (like chat) just not in the FC (that I think is not so active anyway) (not that the LS is that active either... but it could be!)

https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/playguide/option_service/world_transfer_service/

costs $18.00 per transfer

else you can hand stuff to a 3rd person and they can steal it hand it back to you.

Should I buy an apartment? (Assuming I can and that they are easier to get than houses, which I've heard are impossible). The 500k cost would represent 50% of my total gil, but I can't see anything else massively expensive I'll need to get. I haven't seriously levelled any crafting class (and don't plan to at the moment), so I feel like this is my best option for an extravagant purchase and would give me somewhere put all the furniture I've accumulated from the MSQ.

I dont think I've ever heard of there being a limit on the number of available apartments. There is with housing. I did have a house, but then didnt log in for a few weeks so lost it, thats fine, my FC has a house and I just did my room there up in the way I wanted (I also have an apartment though)

There is a limit, each apartment block can have 90 rooms, each division and sub division has one apartment block, there are 24 wards in each of the four housing areas making a total of 17,280 possible rooms. (I think) Clearly this does not get maxed out on most servers, but I think it does on some.

You can also get a room in a FC house, and of course own your own house.

Ah okay, I knew there was X amount of apartments per block, but didn't know if they could add additional blocks in each division/sub division as needed (I mean they probably could...).

I had one of each and all were decorated, but my FC house is right next to a marketboard etc so I'm happy there.

Hoping the lotteries they introduce in 6.1 will mean I get lucky and get a house, i've spent a few hours hanging around empty plots trying my luck but the current system is a nightmare with the invisible timer. Put in a bit of work with my apartment, i'm not massively creative but it turned out ok I think 🙂. I want a garden though!

The "role quest" you have to do a bit later is also a contender. Not sure what the others are like, but the tank one is just repeated go here and talk to villager.

Spoiler

I really enjoyed that. I wouldn't agree with the consensus opinion I've read everywhere online that it's miles better than Stormblood but I thought it really delivered by the end.

In answer to my own earlier question about when the story really starts to get good, I'd say it's from Mt Gulg onwards when Emet-Selch finally steps things up. I feel like the bits presenting Vauthry as the main antagonist were a bit lacking but once it finally starts opening up about Emet's motivations for what the Asicans are trying to do and why, it's excellent stuff. Though I thought The Tempest (and the guy in his workshop at the bottom of the sea) was a weird momentum-sapping bit before the good stuff in Amaurot.

I thought the art team did an incredible job with this expansion. I loved the Sin Eater marble aesthetic as well as the parts where you reach the edges of the flood. The final dungeon and trail in particular were absolutely spectacular.

One thing I wasn't clear on - what's up with Emet seeing you/Ardbert as one of the robed people from Amaurot just before you fight him? Is that explained in the 5.x patches or have I missed something there?

Is it like in previous expansions where the .3 patch gives a 'real' ending to the expansion (like Nidhogg and Yotsuyu did before)? I want to try and get those done in the next two weeks if I can before getting into the pre-Endwalker stuff next year.

The story for sure continues and the 'real' end is 5.3, wrapping up remaining things in the first.

re: Emet seeing you/Ardbert as one of the robed people

Spoiler

The Amaurotine who knew they were in a simulation of the past (Hythlodaeus) talks about how the wol and ardbert are two parts of a sundered soul.

There is more coming up for you so take notes :D

I've been reading story spoilers in this thread. Very little looks familiar apart from some character names, I can barely remember the names of the antagonists. And it just does not matter, the game works extremely well if you choose to ignore to story and focus on dungeons and jobs. Whatever Hydaelyn is, whatever the Ascians are/were planning... 🤷‍♂️

So now I've hit level 80 (with two classes, even!) I've hit a bit of a wall trying to get up to an i430 average to do the post-Shadowbringers stuff.

I have the i430 armour set from the guy in the Tempest but my accessories/jewellery is lagging behind. I think the only option available for me to get an i430 level accessory is by repeating Amaurot, right? I don't fancy running it repeatedly and hoping for a full set scouting and healing ring/bracelet/earring/necklaces to drop.

I ended up spending a horrendous amount of cash at the market board for a set of ninja accessories to get me over i430 so I could get into The Grand Cosmos but I feel like there must've been an easier way I missed...

Generally, you want tomestones. Tomestones = gear. There's different tomestones (check you currency panel), the rarer/harder to obtain the tomestone, the higher ilvl the gear.

That's still just running Amaurot repeatedly for me though, right? It's the only Level 80 dungeon I have access to and I think dungeons below 80 give Poetics.

An accessory from the Allegory tomestones is costs 375 and Amaurot seems to only give 50 per run.
