For those already finished, is it better to polish off all the additional side quests before initiating playthrough 2? Or is it more fun to get grabbing the better loot as soon as possible?

Bloody brilliant game. Simply been unable to replace this in my 360 disc drive for a solid week.

Quick question to all: When I select playthrough 2, what's meant to happen? Because when I click on it I end up in the same spot as when I left after killing the final boss.

Not that. It's meant to take you to the start again, just after you got off the bus.

I've noticed a few quirks in Playthrough 2. For example, the mission at the start, that requires you to buy a grenade. If you have full grenades already, you have to chuck one and then buy fresh from the machine (or, if you're an idiot like me, have sticky grenades enabled, accidentally throw it into the vending machine in front of your face, fumble into the buying menu, and then get killed) Similar applies to the mission where you have to buy a shield. Even selling my current one then buying back didn't register it.

Did quite a lot last night, and am up to the bit where

Teranus is up in a little room above an arena type place being all evil while enemies try and kill me below (not sure how close to the end that is). I found the bird monster quite hard as after shooting out all its eyes, and unloading the rest of my ammo into it, it still wasn't dead. That coupled with the fact that tons of birds were trying to kill me, in the end I had to lob my bird at one just to get some ammo, then with that kill more to get my ammo up. Good fight though  I found the next boss (some person with a shotgun / rocket launcher thing) relatively easy as I just did my usual sniper rifle headshot thing and he didn't last that long. Im a level 29 hunter now...

Great game, but if some changes could be made for the DLC / patch it would be:

- At vending machines, when buying ammo there should be a Ctrl/Shift + Buy which will fill up the ammo space instead of being forced to click, then click yes all the time.

- Remove weapon crates from towns, or if they are left there make sure it remembers whether they are already opened or not rather than just spawning guns.

Other than that i'd say it was pretty perfect.

Despite the fact that they could have easily sold this for free or just put it in the game without having to make us pay for it, I'll probably wind up getting this anyway. I'll probably pick up the Premium Theme as well. :(

It's just such a fun game, I want to play more. :(

Are there quests that time out or something? I'm sure I've done everything available but didn't get the achievement.

Nah Timmo. I thought I'd done everything but there's a couple of quests that aren't on the boards or given by the usual suspects.

The two I missed were the bandits quests and Green thumb. For the bandits enter Old Haven and turn left and look at the dead bandits that have been executed by the wall. For Green Thumb - look for the guy by the giant sunflowers south of the middle of nowhere.

I have two orange, and a ton of purple and greens. I think I sold an orange for 60k as I didn't think i'd use.

If im honest, I was kind of hoping to at least get a gun for completing the game on the first run-through. I was almost expecting to get into the vault and collect some special items, until the idea of that went out the window at the end. As money was never an issue for me, and there isn't really anything worth buying in the vending machines anyway, I can't see the point of getting 200k.

. Still, I have another run through to go, so maybe i'll find something I can spend the money on. I'm still waiting for a decent sniper rifle, as all the rifle drops have been a bit naff so far.

So, I've been playing this a bit more and I have no idea what I was doing before because I'm actually enjoying it. I honestly couldn't tell you what had changed. Probably just a case of "ur doin' it rong lol"

It's the sort of game it's very easy to pick apart and dislike.

If you take it for what it is - a game where things run at you, you shoot them and they drop random loot. Then it's fine.

But soon as you look past that it starts to crumble a bit.

As a blend of FPS and RPG I'd say it has failed, but as a semi decent shooter I'd say its all-right.

Glad to hear it, because with the kind of games you usually like (going by your posts) it just didn't make any sense whatsoever that you didn't get any enjoyment out of it. All is well with the world again

Feels like I'm rushing through this even though I'm trying not to.

I'm level 11 and I'm just 4 hours in.

Is the single player fairly short?

I'm level 17 and like you it felt like I was rushing through it, but now it's getting harder. I'm having to do bounty board missions in order to level, so it doesn't feel like grinding really.

The guns are a little out of whack, i mean i've had a properly gimped dark orange, then a blue which blows any of my other stuff out of the water. The orange was just high damage, low rof smg with not much else to put it apart from the crowd other than a double shot. The blue however was a beast: This thing was a decent damage (nothing spectacular) quite inaccurate even for an smg with a nice rate of fire, the golden twist was that it fired not one bullet every time, not even two, but 4 bullets. It would merrily chew through any opponent who was fool enough to wander within my reach!

Does the red text actually mean anything other than a nice little label?

Sometimes it indicates a hidden bonus, sometimes it just echoes an obvious bonus, and sometimes it seems to do nothing at all.

Yeah, the randomness of the weapon generator does mean there are so many statistical variants of things that often you get a blue whose stats are boosted so high by the randomness, and an orange whose stats are brought so low by them, that the blue is better than the orange in many ways. Even odder are the values of weapons, which sometimes seem to make no sense at all. My main criticism is that it's all just a little *too* random really, in consequence of which there's no easy way to gauge the relative merits of items without carefully combing your inventory and evaluating stats. Given that there's no storage space in the game, this means you often have to do this evaluation on the spot in order to decide whether to dump your existing stuff to make room for a new drop.

In practice that's too much hassle and I'm certain I've left better stuff behind than I'm carrying, simply because I don't want to constantly break the flow of the game to perform statistical comparisons (which you need to do even on white items) every minute or so. They really could have flagged the merits of loot up a bit better, or at least let you keep a store of it all somewhere to sift through at your leisure.

Yeah, I wish there was a store to keep your weapons. Mainly because I wanted somewhere to keep the weapons I got for completing side quests or killing a boss. It was disappointing to have to throw away a shit sniper rifle or whatever after searching for all the parts for half an hour, but it would have been nice to maybe stick on a shelf or on the wall above a fire place.

The DLC should allow you to own a home in Fyrestone or New Haven to store you're weapons, there are definitely more homes than residents because they keep getting ambushed by bandits!
