50 until they release the DLC, apparently.

EDIT: I read your post wrong. I'm on level 41 now.

I don't think they're upping the level cap for the DLC either.

I'm lvl 44 now and have yet to see any lvl 50s yet. Was just wondering if anyone here had hit it and hard tricky a game hosted by them would be. I can imagine rock-hard skags would be pretty xp generous.

I hit lvl 50 with my Siren about halfway through Playthrough 2. I'm yet to finish the 2nd playthrough though I hear that if you decide to do another with the same character, all the enemies are lvl 50 and the game is madness.

I'll probably be taking my lvl 30 Berserker through Dr Neds though.

I hit level 50 at about the same time (second playthrough) but I've yet to reach the end of the game to see what those last few areas would be like. So far with two level 50s the game seems to chuck out a lot of level 48s. I'm saving the end for the weekend though.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this already but at level 50 my experience is still going up, even with a full level 50 bar. Makes me think that when they do increase the level cap I'll be partway through another level (or maybe a few).

Also the same might be true with cash, I've long since reached the cap but often I'll buy a huge item - or die - and my cash doesn't go down at all, seems to be accumulating..

Smashed my first pad in years fighting Sledge :(

What an utter cunt

Must have taken 20 goes but I got the fucker in the end

I thought that his shotgun was supposed to be badass, I've got level 7 shotgun proficiency and it's a load of toss.

I've got a shotgun half the value which is miles better than it

Anyhow I need to face facts, I'm never going to finish this, and fun as it is I've got a load of other stuff I want to play that I know I'll get more pleasure out of (AC2, Uncharted 2, NSMB-Wii, Ratchet & Clank, etc)

New DLC Info.

"We think of it about the same size as one of the smaller zones in the main game. It's probably four to six hours of new gameplay with a lot of new regions, new monsters, that kind of thing. It's probably about the size of the Arid Badlands [the starting zone] and one or two of the doglegs."
"As soon as you enter the download content, it detects what level you are and sets the area to about the same level of what you're at. So whenever you buy the DLC, wherever your character happens to be, you can go into Jakobs Cove and you should be good to go."

"I should mention that [level 10] is the minimum level. So if you started a level 1 character and jumped in, the monsters would be level 10. That's because we wanted to be sure that players played the beginning of 'Borderlands' and really understood what 'Borderlands' is about, 'cause there's no training in the download content."

Don't worry about setting the content too low, though. Whenever you return to Jakobs Cove the game will re-scale the enemies and loot, allowing you to play through with a level 50 character and still have a challenge.

Although the draw of "Borderlands" has always been the loot, it didn't sound like that was the main focus this time around, as the DLC won't add any new weapon effects or anything like that. Said Helquist, "The main focus of this download pack is the new region and the new plotline and that sorta thing."

What's the deal with fast travel?

The manual says go to one of those stations where you can re-spec and change your colors and use the rabbit icon (RB) but it's always greyed out.

I've got as far as The Dahl Headland so I thought I should be able to use it by now!?

You activate a certain reactor in a quest in the Dahl Headlands, which powers the fast travel network. Until that's done, it's offline.

Sledge's shotty really is badass although as it has zero accuracy, you need to be face to face with your enemy. I use Sledge's shotgun to take anyone down, even bosses much later in the game.

You can't.

Another four hours on this last night and it just keeps on giving. I thought the 2nd playthrough would stagnate but not at all. The mobs are so fricking tough in places and even with a varied team of four of us going at it it's a proper challenge.

I thought I was invincible for a while but now I'm begging for better weapons...must.have.more.loot.

Anyone hit a third playthrough yet?

Man I can't wait for the DLC.

Just started out and am a bit puzzled by the inventory procedure. For some reason when I left the first settlement and fought those pups I lost my basic machine gun. Did it wear out? Resorted to pistols for the first bandit mission but when I went back to see the doc thought I would buy another machine gun. All went through but where is it in my inventory? Nothing extra there at all.

I finished my first playthrough tonight and I'm left with no motivation to do a second. Towards the end we stopped doing the sidequests as they were all marked as trivial so were yielding crap XP and rubbish loot. The game started well, the first area probably being the best, particularly as you're not constantly have to travel from one zone to another which started getting annoying as the game went on, was there even a world map you could access? The lack of mobs was disappointing, the zones pretty uninspired, easy bosses, it's not a bad game by any means but it blew its load way too early. Was there an option for difficulty when you start? If not, it's way too easy on the first run through.

It's one of them games that will come good in the sequel, probably.

And that's exactly why you should do a second playthrough. Even the early skags can be terrifying!

Some of the early fights were brilliant but you very soon get to the point where the majority of battles pose little challenge which is a shame. Also, did anyone find there's a massive bias towards sniper rifles / machine guns? I gave up using SMGs with my Siren as the few that did drop were bobbins. I'm guessing it's totally random but it's weird how you can go for so long without getting a half decent gun. That said when you've got a shotgun with a scope that sets people on fire, it's not all that necessary anyway.

It's all about the loot. I didn't use SMG's at all on my Siren for pretty much the whole of the first playthrough. But now on my 2nd run, I have 3 equipped at all times and the Mercenary class mod (which adds about 50% to SMG damage). I just had some incredible SMG's drop. An evil Double Anarchy which does massive damage. A super effective shock SMG for taking down those shields and the piece de resistance - a sexy dark orange SMG with a ridiculous ammo regen which keeps all the others in bullets.
