I just came in to post that the DLC is now available.

Really sorry for the misleading post earlier.

Not your fault mate, no reason for you to disbelieve the story, you're not a professional journalist, they are.

I only know because I saw the tweet before the story.

A little tip for anyone playing the General Knoxx DLC... Speak to Marcus before you go for a drive. It'll probably save you a 'BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINS' moment. You'll see what I mean.

Quick question, does anyone know whether you can still play online with folks if you don't have all dlc? I've got Ned and have this queued but skipped the underdome one as it looked a bt weak, will this prevent me playing with people who did get the underdome?

Not sure if it's due to the fact I've completed the game, including Dr Ned and Mad Moxxi, 4 times, but it's not really gripping me. Maybe I've had too much Borderlands. There also seems to be a lot of driving around.

I assume that the new DLC - like the last one - really needs a 50 char?

I have to admit my least favourite bit of Borderlands is the conceit that you have to play it twice to complete it - with the challenging difficulty reserved for the 2nd playthrough (unless you do Dr Zed in the middle and upset the balance AGAIN!)

My char is 42 how and hasn't even reached the 'fast travel' bit of PT2 and it's just (mostly) boring now -_-

I'm currently playing with a lvl 42 siren. I havent seen an enemy in the dlc greater than lvl 36. Played it for about an hour and a half, and just blitzed through it, an unstoppable killing machine mowing down everything i see, with no need for tactics, guile or even getting out of the way of their bullets.

I also didn't see a single gun worth picking up due to the huge discrepancy in levels.

And as a final fuck you, as I was a way higher level than the game I was getting 3 xp per kill, and basically nothing for missions. They were all trivial, so I maybe moved 1/3rd of the way to my next level.

Kind of makes the whole endeavour pointless and dull.

So in short, no challenge, no loot, no levelling up = no fun.

Poor, very poor, very disappointing.

They seem to lock the level of enemies to your progression in the PT1/2 story - which means there are good and bad times to enter DLC.

If you complete PT1 and then go into Dr Zed, the enemies are a bit low (mid30s) but PT2 Dr Zed starts around 42 which is kinda high unless you've done a PT1 Zed or some of PT2 (I was 38 when I finished PT1 I think - and Dr Zed added 3 levels to that)

So you need to guess/be lucky with when you choose to enter DLC it seems?!?!

Well, I finished the game, then did the zombie dlc, then started playthrough 2.

When I downloaded this I took my character back to playthrough 1 and warped to this dlc.

Result, 6 levels between me and the enemies, it's a joke, thinking of binning it off and just running through playthrough 2 as quick as and then trying it. Or (much more likely) not bothering and finishing off Mass effect 2.

If you're looking for a challenge then the second playthrough General Knoxx DLC will suit you. I entered it at level 49 having just finished the zombie DLC and got absolutely pasted by the first enemies I ran into. I managed to take one - maybe two - down, but the other two were much tougher. I'm not sure I even inflicted any damage on one of them. The other I managed to take down to about half health before being killed.

The encounter was right next to a save point as well. Every time I regenerated, they killed me again. I've only just reached New Haven in the second playthrough so I have ample opportunity to level up for the rematch, bu man, those new Lance are tough.

You can get into PT2 Dr Zed even if you've not reached fast-travel in PT2 (just talk to fast-transit point anyway) - so I assume you could get into PT2 Knoxx the same way BUT it's likely to be too-high (just as PT2 is too low)????

That's the downside of the 'locked to the story' idea they have - why they can't just lock it to your level I've no idea.

They made quite a few changes to Borderlands in the last patch and one thing I've noticed is my 42 Zerker is WAY less damaging in PT2 than he was.

Enemies are 36-38 and I was tearing them apart before the patch - now they soak up a lot of damage (guns or melee) - making the game much harder (not actually a bad thing tbh)

I fear for what it means for at-level-or-above enemies tho
