I'm in need of 3 stout men (or women) with the General Knoxx DLC to assist me in taking down Crawmerax the Invincible (level 64)

I'm level 61 Hunter. Who's in?

I picked this up ages ago from Zavvi on the cheap and it has been sitting in my "to play" pile since then. I had the day off on friday and really had to force myself to give this a go over Fallout 3 and Bayonetta, which are also as of yet unplayed, and my goodness I'm glad I did. It's just amazing - I can't remember the last time I got so into a game.

I'm a level 20 hunter - difficulty has been spot on in the most part (although I tackled Moe and Whassischops a bit late so it was perhaps a bit easier than it could have been, but given the damage those two soaked up before dying it was probably a good thing!). My only very, very slight quibble would be that a few missions seem to open at points in the game where there is no way you can't be a good few levels about them so they are "trivial" as soon as they appear.

I love the gameplay though - particularly the period when you have just found a new gun and you are trying it out to see if it merits a place in your perfectly limited inventory. At first I thought the backpack size was too restrictive, but now I realise it just makes you appreciate the specific nuances of each weapon in conjunction with the rest of your arsenal - which I guess is what the game is all about!

The ability to reset your skill points, which I haven't yet used, is also brilliant. I only found out about it around level 8 and before then skill point allocation had felt a bit like an exercise in sacrifice in which each point spent seeming like a point lost elsewhere, but the fact you can rejig it later on means it's just pure opportunity cost free pleasure!

FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME!

Oh also on my map there is an exclamation mark next to the set of gates you unlock early in the game just outside fyrestone suggesting there should be a bounty board there but I've had a good look around and I can't see anything. Any ideas?

There's nothing there it's a glitch on the map - there are a few others (including one which is marked but only activates as part of a quest chain later etc.)

It's not a glitch, it's a switch. Certain switches also appear on your map. It's just a way of saying "check this out, there's something here you may want to look at"

What the deal with onlinery with this hen then? I'm tweaking with tangy caution since that dude that said his entire game got corrupted when he joined someone who had done a quest he hadn't - definitely don't want in on a caper like that.

What can I get up to online that is double-wrap super risk free, and how will it effect my singleplayer game?

Are Duels fun?

Is "friends only" multiplayer advised, or are there a load of good groups around? I don't want to battle through something only to have some cyber-oik mug me out of any guns at the end.

Level 57 Soldier, working my way through the Moxxi DLC on PT2. For a long while, whilst being around level 51, I really disliked this. Forgetting that its rock hard, once outside T-Bone junction at the start the driving and need to fight your way through bland roadblocks (being killed repeatedly) is frustrating and tiresome. As happens many times with this, once I levelled up a bit it became bearable, now I have pretty decent weapons, health and fast shield regeneration, and am level 57 its a lot more enjoyable. Its taken a real long time though to get there though.

I was looking at the achievement for the Claptrap rescues and I have done all of the main ones but still only have 33 slots. I think there is one in the zombie DLC which I havent done, but Ive done all the rest yet still some way off the 42 required. I cant think how Im going to get to 42 for the achievement...?

Odd question, but you have been equipping the storage deck upgrade right?

Also, the Zombie Island Claptrap storage deck is awarded on both PT1 and PT2

I have equipped them, I read somewhere that you dont get one for each Claptrap you rescue, maybe Ive been unlucky and havent been getting them by chance?

You get one for each claptrap. But if you got one in PT1 then you don't in PT2

Ive finished the game and the Moxxi DLC, now just working back through the few missions Im yet to complete. The Circle of Death one, Ive got to the 3rd stage, but Im pretty sure that when you die the whole thing gets reset, unlike the other similar challenges in the main game where you can continue where you left off. As the rounds are so long its hard to tell if this is the case, can anyone advise?

You get them 100% first time through - 2nd time it's random chance (on the PC they reckon the fewer spaces you have the higher the chance of the drop)

It can be exploited by savegame tricks too - talking to the claptrap and if you don't get the SDU, reloading/restoring the save - see here

Having left Fyrestone and moved onto the Dahl Headlands and New Haven all the missions that become available are below me levelwise and although I am trying to not turn in missions etc to delay leveling up it's a battle to stop missions becoming "Trivial" before I have a chance to complete them.

I think most of the mission are around Level 21 at the moment and I am 23 - do they jump up soon or am I doomed to playing the rest of the game without real challenge? It will really break my heart if that's the case as it was spot on throughout Fyrestone. The most upsetting thing was

Skagzilla who simply could not hurt me but took a vast amount of damage so it was just a long and tedious question of repeatedly emptying magazines into him with no risk of dying

The exception being

that fucking moth beast - the board said it was a Level 20 mission so I sauntered over there casual as you like only to have fiery death rained down on me by an enormous level 25 winged horror - I was dead within seconds!

Missions will mostly be trivial (although some will actually be harder than that implies anyway) - yes

Most of PT1 won't be terrifically challenging - yes

Mothrak is hard by comparison - yes (like most bosses tho, if you keep moving it's just a matter of time)

What I think may of happened is that I probably sold the early ones rather than equipping them, probably not realising their importance at the time :/

Got to Clawmerax last night. That battle can **** right off!

That's an awful shame. What the point of getting new guns when the current ones I have are already overpowered?

And I was so enjoying it....

I'm up to Level 32, and have just left New Haven - probably just ahead of where you're at. Whilst johnpeat's right in that a lot of missions come up as "trivial", the majority are still very challenging, and certainly not easy by any means. Enough of a challenge to carry on anyway, at least in my opinion. :(

Play it in co-op with someone lower level than you, if you can. I've found the difficulty increase of other players joining a game more than offsets the advantage of having additional players with you.

Or join someone's game who's a higher level than you. You'll be glad of those extra guns then!

Just because it's easy doesn't make it any less enjoyable. Besides which, complete it then try the second playthrough ^_^

Unfortunately it does for me. That said the last few missions I have done have been much better difficulty wise so I am not quite so crestfallen as I was. It's great when they throw in a surprise "badass" foe who is about five levels above everyone else.

In other news I got my first orange weapon, get in!

Wouldn't be so bad if it were just him, but all those other craw maggots too? I take a knee within seconds or exiting the lift!

Me too. Really disappointing battle that as its so unfairly weighted. Not to mention the painful wait for the lift to rise each time you die. Im not bothering with this one, which is a shame as Ive pretty much done everything else.

Got this today via some trading... Love it so far.

It comes across as a more action packed Fallout, which is no bad thing.

It's awesome dude, how far are you in?
