There's negativity, and then there's antagonistic negativity. Guess which one bcass is. There's also antagonistic positivity, like ramone in the sales thread. That one's funnier though.

Riding in on my winged Epona now, I'd say Scottcr definitely has the antagonising positivity factor.

Meanwhile I'm thoroughly enjoying my first play of TP. I've reached the Zoras' domain and I've got to thaw it out.

I'm loving the (seemingly) vast map, although it's a pity it isn't (or can't be?) presented as one continuous area like Shadow of the Colossus, rather than pause for loading between areas.

I'm certainly not finding it turgid, uninspired, lazy, dull etc. etc., but then again I speak as someone who completed OOT twice, so maybe my Zelda-boredom threshold is freakishly high.

* nintendo defence force (childish use but not sure how else to describe them)

Yeah, it is childish and a bit weird. I didn't particularly enjoy Twilight Princess, but claiming that people posting positively about a universally well-reviewed game is a fanboy conspiracy is weak and strangely pointless.

It's not. There's a dedicated topic for that game. I'm sure the search function will bring it up.

Haha.... bollocks. Those who are suggesting changes and improvements or even disinterest in the next Zelda game obviously refer to TP to make their point and those then that liked TP respond back. Are you saying its okay to criticise based on experiences playing TP but not in any way positively say how much you might in turn have enjoyed it?

My concerns with the next Zelda are more along the lines of them changing things away from what the games have always done - I get this gut feeling that bcas for example would want an on-line co-op mode or something on-liney which, for me, would kill the game dead. In its tracks :D

No, I'm saying that, for example, Darren's playthrough report on Twilight Princess is perhaps not best suited to this topic.

Still disagree - Darren, by playing TP as we prattle on about the next game, is providing very important reminders of the game, most of which I've long forgotten :D:ph34r:

Hmm sorry. It all started because I said in this thread that I still hadn't played TP even though I'm still looking forward to the next one. Then a few people told me to give it another go, which I did, and it sort of naturally carried on from there. I'm not trying to derail this thread.

I am guilty of trying to offer an alternative opinion to bcass' constant whinging though. Perhaps I should learn from his technique and just slip in some stealth TP comments into my posts. If he can get away with describing this thread as "a lame wankathon about the achingly average Twilight Princess", then perhaps I should start wondering whether the next Zelda will use motionplus to improve on the already excellent horseback combat from the thoroughly excellent Twilight Princess.

:D

But I'll take further TP playthrough comments to the TP thread if that's what people want.

No I think Sprite's point is fair enough - this is the wrong thread for TP playthrough chat but as I said it started out as a natural development from this discussion.

If I find I'm talking to myself in the other thread I'll bring it back here though!

Is sprite machine in danger of turning this into a 'wankathon' of politically correct thread posting?

I for one find Darren's posts about twilight princess far more relevant to this thread than SM's posts asking Darren not to post on this thread about actually playing TP (not allowed) rather than generically using TP experiences to add to the conversation regarding the next Zelda game (allowable with care).

I don't know. What's a 'wankathon', and how is it political?

Is Stolly in danger or asking rhetorical questions?

Finding one thing more relevant than another doesn't make either actually relevant.

If you were making a point about derailing a topic by commenting on the the derailing of the topic, then I fear the irony has been lost on you.

Okay my last 'ironic' derail on this thread. Sprite machine, do you also make sure all your jam jars face the same way in your kitchen cupboard and iron your socks? ;)

Its a gaming forum and just let your hair down and chill from time to time :D

Wow, you couldn't be more wrong. You won't find a single pro-co-op post by me on this forum. That's not to say that there isn't room for some online elements though. Have a look at Demon's Souls for one interesting development in that area that could suit Zelda.

That's because it's so eminently forgettable. I played the game through to completion, and I can barely remember anything about it, which can't be said for the superior Zeldas that pre-date it.

Watch out Dareen, the thread gestapo are onto you ;)

The biggest gestapo on this forum are the nintendo-herd who never *ever* take criticism of nintendo or their products with any grace whatsoever. I find it amazing that people would take it so personally, to the extent that they start hurling personal insults. And yes, I'm fully aware that I called scott a Dick, but that was a play on words based on him calling me a Tim (which I thought was obvious, but obviously needed explaining to some who took it the wrong way).
