I can't believe you forgot to add Test Drive Unlimited 2, Joe! ;)

Only that and F1 for me, thanks.

Ooh, forgot that indeed. Added!

I'm mostly looking forward to that, the F1 game as well and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Really hoping it's a proper reboot of the series.

TDU2 - I loved the first one, hoping this will tighten the experience.

GT5 - The reason I bought a PS3, no matter how long it takes, I'll have it on launch.

F1 - A next gen F1 is long overdue, I've avoided the Wii version and still play the old PS3 one occasionally. I'm hoping it's as polished as the pics / vids have shown.

And lastly, NFS : HP - The original Hot Pursuit was possibly my favourite of the series, and I'll happily sink hours into play cops & robbers again :)

Anyway Nayslayers...who needs graphics?

[yt]ZGPapom3Fgk[/yt]

This viddy highlights exactly what i'm talking about - these textures are quite poor (i appreicate its a big screen therefore higher res...),

BUT all the processor usage has gone into the physics and this highlights the point i've been making about a less graphically busy game, with more cars, decent physics and at HD AND at 60fps.

And I DO think the 360 is capable.

The question is, which programming devs has the balls to pull it off

???

I might add that DICE did a similar (albeit arcade) thing on the PS1. Many games on the Ps1 were sub-30fps attempts.

Then Dice did Motorhead...and we had 8 cars (or 7 AI) with reduced distance visibility (something that wouldn't be an issue on the 360) - with some lovely neon graphics. But they took the chance to forego the graphical fidelity too do it.

I'm really a fool. I am still eagerly waiting for the Live for Speed tyre update which never seems to see the light of day.

If the sim market was a bit busier I don't think I'd be quite so eager to tell the truth.

And iRacing is incredible considering the pace of which it is developed and improved, but sadly the price is far too much for me.. especially the continued purchase of cars and tracks.

When is rFactor 2 actually due? I haven't seen anything of it apart from a few screenshots.

Elaborate!

Safety rating. A single wheel off track in 11 laps of Laguna Seca is going to penalise you, meanwhile there's 12-20 other people on the track, most of whom are better than you, some are right behind you because they didn't bother qualifying. You're in a car you don't know with a wheel you only just bought....

So rewarding though.

No good for you 'Console-only but I'm not playin' without a wheel' types, I know  ; but have any of you seen much of Ferrari Virtual Academy yet?

I'm merely a casual onlooker with games these days but surprisingly hadn't seen anything of it until a search for wheels and for the Codemasters F1 game very early on Friday morning.

If what I have read is correct, it'll be available to download from Thursday, will cost 15 Euros and include the Fiorano track. I've also seen 9 Euros mentioned, so time will tell. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything around regarding hardware requirements, nor any confirmation regarding any potential cost of the remaining tracks. The only other real info on the above site relates to live leaderboards, the car being the F10 (ready-configured) and of Mugello and Nürburgring having been modelled. Dare one hope that the latter isn't 'just' the modern Grand Prix track...?

Perhaps I won't have to send those "Why haven't you released a proper sim?" e-mails out to the teams now. It might just catch on. Anyone up for a 'Legends of...' series done properly? With Can-Ams as a hidden bonus?! :D

I haven't gotten around to buying it yet (I really am going to though), it is apparently rather good. It uses the NetKar Pro engine if anyone wondered.

It's just the regular Nurburgring GP track, but they have also thrown in Fiorano so there are 3 tracks in all. :)
