The Playstation Move

As rubbish as the controls sound on Kung Fu Rider, I'm still quite keen to give it a go. I think it's the only Sony launch title not on the starter pack demo disc though. Probably indicating that they also think it's a little bit of a stinker.

I think Sports Champions is the only game I'm gonna bother with to begin with. So I'm looking at £50 for the Eye Toy + Motion Controller pack, £35 for an extra Motion Controller, and is it even worth getting the navigation controller at this point?

Basically I just wanna play local two player Sports Champions, is the above all I'll need?

Also, have Sony indicated whether we'll be able to navigate the XMB with Move?

Tried RUSE on the weekend with move and it was ok but not great; you use the navigation controller to move around left, right, forward and backward and then use the move to rotate the camera and zoom in and out. It works ok but the move seems to only want to move you a little way left or right and you have to virtually touch the side of the screen to get it to turn turn, Zooming in and out is quite cool but was a feature I did;t use in the demo.

Main annoyance was selecting units; the move button is used to select a single unit and move/ attack, the trigger on the navigation controller is used to create a circular selection tool to select multiple units and the square button used to select all units. This lead to a lot of confusion when I sent a single tank into battle or remembers to pull the trigger to get the circle selection option. It would have been much better if you could hold down the move button to create circular select or streamlined it in someway to use less buttons, as it stands, it doesn't feel like a liberating control system compared to a controller with you having to remember button combinations to do things which should be quite simple

I think you will need to buy an extra motion controller if you want to play local two player (well on table tennis at least), however you can use the DS3 instead of the navigation controller so it isn't necessary to get one

XMB can be controlled by the move, its based on motion (i.e. flicking left, right, up and down) rather than having a cursor and works ok but can be a little sensitive.

Does Sports Champions require the navigation controller/DS3 at any point? I'll probably just go for two motion controllers & one navigation controller, the other player can use the DS3.

One last question. Will the web browser offer Move support? That could be really useful.

Nope. A few of the games give you the option to use two Move controllers, but everything else just needs a single controller.

That would indeed be awesome especially with gesture support. Actually what would be even more awesome would be google TV using your ps3, its being built into future TV's but to retro fit it via the PS3 would be aces (however guessing the lack of video in would be a big issue unless they do a play TV type box)

The Dual Shock should be fine for Move games that require the Navigation controller. I don't know about anyone else but I'm pretty sure the Wii's nunchuck usually sits in my lap for most games.

The Navigation controller is a luxury. I've totally preordered one.

Ee gads no. The navigation controller is a must.

if the browser supported move and the BBC created an iPlayer app for Move using the format of the Wii one, then it'd be perfect.

Apologies if already posted.

Under Siege gameplay footage

# Under Siege is a real-time strategy game exclusive to the PS3 and the PSN store.

# It includes a juicy single player campaign as well as online and local multiplayer content.

# The in-game Editor enables players to create their own maps and share them with the world!

Another neat bit of information about this game from the rest of the other real-time strategy games is that you can actually let any race join your group on your quest to bring order to the world, as long as you find them of course. Check out this video and notice how smoothly the game seems to run with MOVE support. Selecting units and moving around with the Navigator Controller just seems to make sense.

I got 85 pounds to spend on HMV from trade in. I already got Resident Evil 5 and Heavy Rain. What would you buy with 85 pounds ? move controller, eye toy camera, motion controller, and Sport Chanpions ? Is that good one.

Assuming you mean nav controller by motion controller? Depends whether you want to play 2-player games, in which case it might be wiser to get another Move.

Just finishing off my write-up of this now. It's a remarkable bit of kit that I genuinely think will surprise a few people. Software's not all that so far (though Tumble, from what I've played of it so far, is really quite lovely; like a cross between Art of Balance and Boom Blox) but the potential is tremendous. And it's worth it for Sport Champions table tennis - and to a lesser extent, Bocce - alone. Disc golf and archery are both great, too, but less surprising if you've played Wii Sports Resort.

Somone mentioned it earlier but that 320gb bundle which comes with the motion controller and Eye Camera is brilliant value - £260 or something.

It's be great in future if all PS3's came with Move as standard.

Would it be possible to play normal PS3 games with the navigation controller and the motion controller, thus negating the DS3 entirely? I'm sure I'm missing something blatantly obvious about why that wouldn't be possible.

After not really thinking much about it I'm now really looking forward to Move. One of the things I love about Wii is just navigating menus, using iplayer etc. with the remote. It's just a nice way to interact with the TV.
