I know this isn't due out until tomorrow but does anyone know anywhere in London which is selling them today? Fancy picking one up to have a play with tonight.

A few of the online places have already dispatched (with some people recieving them today) so I'm assuming stocks must be in the stores

Hmm, semi-tempted to pick one up after seeing this £10 off £50 offer at Tesco which would make the Camera, Controller and Navigation Controller come in at £54 along with the usual Quidco and Tesco Points.

For those who've played it, is the 8 feet distance from the device a must? I generally play my PS3 in a relatively small room and would be about 6 feet away or so from the camera.

Mine arrived last night, only had a go on some of the demos, quick impressions:

didnt experience any notable lag at all whilst play sports champs, table tennis is relly good!

The pointer controls on the Shoot demo worked just as fast and precise as anything on the wii.

controlling the XMB with it was a pain, hopefully they'll improve it.

TV stars had me in stitches with its silliness, but the game itself seemed pretty shite. possibly good for the family n that.

Start the party impressed me with the augmented reality, the move was tracked perfectly. game itself seemed quite simplistic.

Tumble took some getting used to, its basically a virtual block stacking game, again very precise, i liked it.

Tiger woods was decent, the golfing felt nice but was easy to exploit, the game itself though seemed a little ropey.

easily the most impressive thing was the controller itself, it basically the wiimote I imagined before i actually played with one, which is all i wanted really! I've only got RE5 right now, but Sports champs, Tumble, and Echochrome and maybe the shoot are now on the list.

I've played it in a relatively small office, and whilst we were only standing about 2-3 foot from the camera, we had no issues at all.

I've been playing Sports Champions about 5 or 6 feet away and have had no issues at all. This might be different for two players though, particularly in Table Tennis which requires loads of space to move around in. To be honest I'm not sure if my playing area is quite wide enough for two player Table Tennis anyway.

Move is really impressive. The tracking and the general level of precision are faultless. Table Tennis and Tumble comprehensive demonstrations of what a step up it is from Wii. Disc Golf and Archery seem better than the Wii Sports Resort versions aswell and Bocce is fantastic.

I played a bit of Resident Evil 5 last night too. The Navigation controller doesn't sit quite as nicely in my hand as a Nunchuck and indeed Move, but it's comfortable. The additional x and o buttons are a little pointless when the buttons on the Move are so much better placed. Aiming seems just as good as the Wii, but I needed to turn the sensitivity down a notch as my sights were shaking around too much for decent headshots. The only real irritation is that every time you draw a gun the sights recalibrate, so you have to make sure you point roughly at the centre of the screen every time. Two chapters in however and I was doing this without thinking.

Oh yeah, Flight Control HD, I've not played any of the other versions, but it's magnificent fun and another demontration of Move's great pointing abilities. It might well be because not too many people have bought it yet, but I was ranked number 3 in the whole World last time I looked :)

So would you say after playing, that one or two wands is the way to go for the games that you can use two on? I'm still umming and ahhing and I've still got 2 and a half hours to amend my order to add another one before they ship it.

I've only got the single wand at the moment, which works well for Archery. Another might make more of a difference for the gladiator combat, I'm not overly keen on that anyway.

I'll be buying another one soon mostly for two player games, but yeah, if you don't fancy spending the extra cash at the moment, one Move seems to work perfectly fine on games where you can use two.

I agree with much of what you say, but not that. There's nothing Move's doing in those two that MotionPlus isn't, and with disc golf in particular it doesn't seem quite as satisfying to throw. It might be a little more realistic, but your throws don't seem to go very far, even if you're really putting everything into it.

Not sure how much of a bargain this is (it's probably available cheaper elsewhere online), but Tesco are selling the Starter Pack tomorrow for £39.70.

PlayStation Move will arrive on UK shelves tomorrow and, as good as it is, we know you'll want to make sure you're getting the best deal.

That deal comes from the high street behemoth Tesco, which is selling the PlayStation Move starter pack for just £39.70. That's a saving of nearly a fiver.

Included in the starter pack is a Move controller, the PlayStation Eye and a starter disc so that you can get playing straight away.

Not sure if it'll be that price in-store. :)

Sure, unlike Table Tennis, not doing anything that Motion Plus can't do is probably correct. From what I have played though, I do find I'm enjoying them a touch more than how they were presented on the Wii. Particularly Disc Golf, which has courses specifically designed for it and a Frisbee that behaves more realistically than I remember from Sports Resort. I do understand that disc power criticism though.

what makes Move's table tennis better than WSR?

It's more accurate. WSR's merely reads the way your bat is facing, there's no depth tracking, and shots are affected more by timing than bat position.

I still really enjoy WSR's take on it - the ball in Champs feels a bit too floaty, though that's no doubt to make it less demanding than an actual game of table tennis, but WSR's feels like a game with its own exploits, whereas Champs feels like a proper sim of the sport. Reaching forward to get a serve that's just dropped your side of the net is quite a thrilling moment when it dawns that you have to play it like the real thing.

Are you weakling, i find myself tossing the fucker too far most of the time. Fuck me im in pain with table tennis. The way you can almost jump forward into your tv to get the ball in a 3d space gives a great feeling. Tumble is also great, the inch perfect controls make it a most buy.
