The Playstation Move

Slightly grippy but ineffective against the cable. I always need to wedge something against the cable to stop it from moving. At the moment it is perfectly balanced on the top of my TV though.

I will try this!!

It's just a shame though that with the rest of the kit working well and looking good, no thought was given to something to simple. Perhaps Tumble is belated training for balancing the camera on top of a tv :(

There's some mounts available for the PS3 Eye at a going rate of about £4-5 from the usual retailers. Think I'm going to have to give in and buy one. May get a USB extension cable whilst I'm at it (it's not the longest lead either).

Forgot about 'The Shoot'. What a load of bollocks. Are you supposed to have the gun adapter to use it, because it feels like you really need some sort of sights. There's no frame of reference for where you're aiming at whatsoever. I could barely get past the first screen where you have to enter your name by shooting wooden hanging boards with letters printed on them, nevermind the game proper. It's even more heinous when you discover the initial main menu DOES sport a point-and-click cursor.

Might have to get some sticky pads. Put it on top of the Wii sensor.

Heh, bloody sensors. I'm glad I'm not getting Kinect any time soon, they'd all be having a orgy on there.

True dis. It's an added difficulty when your TV is wall mounted to. With the Wii Sensor bar above, I guess the camera has to go below. Even worse, it doesn't help when certain games - such as the Eye Pet one - ask you to reposition your camera to different heights off the ground. Still, most things worked ok from just below my TV, plus I was happy to find that obstacles in the way (such as my bed) didn't throw the Move off. Also, the 8 feet thing is rubbish, as it appeared to work just fine for me from almost any distance (apart from RIGHT next to the TV, obv).

 Same here, and if by luck you managed to get your name typed you need to fire at the "Enter" board which is almost next to "Backspace" board

Didn't even know this was out today, but I saw it advertised in town and nipped into GameStation to have a look. They had a demo set up, but I didn't have a go myself, I only watched someone play it. It did look very responsive, and I can definitely see this being supported quite well (most games can easily be altered to fit the controls, unlike Kinect, which is useless for just about everything).

Thing is, £50 for the controller and the camera, and then another £30 on top for a game is asking a bit much. They should have bundled it with the sports game for 50 quid, then I'd have been all over it.

Really like the 1:1 tracking - it's smooth as hell compared to the Wii and doesn't appear to miss a beat. Absolutely no doubt it's an improvement.

Which peripheral on the Wii? Normal remote or MotionPlus?

Yeah, TBH I can't believe that the Wii MotionPlus remote is £50 so this seems expensive too (although I suppose you get the PSeye with that £50 too).

Strange, my gun sights never went away from the initial menu, maybe there is a bug or something.

I quite enjoyed the demo. Aiming is really fast and accurate, and the physical moving around you do for ducking and pulling off special moves seems to work well, offering something a little different to the Wii lightgun shooters. I also noticed that the game became about 200% better after I turned off the commentator. Not sure I'd pay £25 for it though, I'll have to wait for some reviews.

I had a proper futuristic, 'Minority Report' style experience playing Tumble last night.

Being one of three people in the world that could play the game both in 3D and with the Move controller, I was blown away by being able to manipulate the blocks in proper 3D space (not only rotating them with the neat controller but also pulling them into and out of the screen). The 3D is very effective, possibly the best/most useful example of the tech yet. The demo is pretty generous, as it kept me going for over an hour. Even the old man was impressed (it takes a lot). A must buy I reckon.

I played the demo just now, and spent the tutorial thinking that it desperately needed to be in 3D - judging the position of the rings in fake 3D space, whilst moving the controller in real 3D space, somewhat removes the physicality of it.

I had a trawl around the shops just now and at £65 for say Sports Champions and the starter pack I would have bitten but at £80 in HMV and Game it just seemed a bit much. Move is flying out of the Game I was in. Sainsburys may well have had the starter pack for £39.99 but their display packaging was baffling.

Obviously it's a slight faf, but Tesco are selling the Move starter pack for 39 online and most of the games for 25, don't know if its the price instore as well, but I need to go out in about 20 minutes anyway so I can check .

The starter pack is definitely 39 at ASDA and Sainsburys instore

Good point; I haven't actually tested MotionPlus, so I've only got the normal remote to compare it to. However, a lot of reviews - say with regards to some of the games in Sports Champions - have mentioned that even compared to the M+ it's more accurate.

The fella in my local Dutch game store told me Resi 5 Move is not yet available. The Resi 5 Move version is in fact Resi 5 Gold Edition + the Move 'patch' on the disc. If you have the 'old' Resi 5 Gold Edition there will be a free Move patch, but he could not tell me when.

Certainly here in the UK, we have this version which was just released, the patch should be out today in the UK

Mate of mine had a similar experience with The Shoot, but really liked Table Tennis in Sports Champions - got an e-mail from him earlier..

ok so first Move impressions. OMFG what have they done. This is worse than duckhunt (The Shoot demo).

So inaccurate it was nearly impossible (doesnt help theres no onscreen crosshair showing you where you're aiming!!). Did wonder if the bright sunlight wasn't helping but basically gave up and turned it off and went back to working while it charged while thinking WTF.

Then later installed the Sports Champions demo and tried the table tennis. Wow, this is it! It works really well. feels very natural and every so controllable. Just tilting my wrist to angle the bat for a high or low shot, timing felt pretty much dead on. Just a quick 2 minute go but shows what it can do.

Now just need some good games. Wonder why the hell they released The Shoot as it is now - it feels totally broken

I don't own a PS3, but browsing Gamestation and seeing a Move demo stand setup I think it's pretty amazing that it's actually here so soon after the initial announcements. The demos looked fairly pretty, and watching someone waggle the wand (or whatever it is) it seemed pretty responsive, even in a busy game store with the mix of natural and electric lighting. Like I said, I don't own a PS3, but I look forward to finding out what more people think of it...

I LOVE archery. Simple as is is (I am?), I like the 'grab-arrow' movement :)

Table Tennis started out nice, but my very first match I lost 0 - 11 <_<

Just bought Resi 5 Gold, I am hoping the Move patch is already out over here (Holland). That is my evening sorted

I absolutely love Table Tennis, I like the fact that you can use a custom soundtrack in Sports Champions as well. Archery though, dammit I knew I should have got two move controllers!

Bizarrely Table Tennis is the sole reason I was looking at Move's today. Seems a bit odd saying that.
