Playing GoldenEye with just one N64 controller? Madness, I tell you.

I'm hoping that there'll be some sort of option to play the dual stick controls with 2 joycons. The controls for for Sin and Punishment are heavily customized towards it compared to the controls for the other N64 releases, so it's the sort of thing that's possible.

Releasing this at the start of the festive period would be ideal.  Families will have to huddle closely together to keep warm this winter anyway - who not do so while holding N64 controllers and bask in the warming glow of Goldeneye?

Does anyone care about this anymore? The whole thing has been handled so poorly and with no interesting updates or even multiplayer in the Xbox version as originally planned then... Who really cares? :(

Only local. It doesn't look like this will be a port based on the 360 arcade version that leaked last year and which had online multiplayer similar to the 360 version of Perfect Dark.

That’s crap isn’t it, I mean if any platform is likely to play more online multiplayer, it’s Xbox.

It’s totally crap, and probably due to Nintendo wishing to deny Microsoft the definitive version of the game.

From what I’ve read it’s because the switch has the ability to do “local multiplayer” online. It’s how the add multiplayer to their N64 games etc.

So it’s not specifically down to the game, but down to how the switch does multiplayer.

Yeah it’s actually a really cool feature, I was playing Streets of Rage 2 online earlier this evening and it’s flawless, but I’m sure after all the effort of getting the game on their system Microsoft would have been able to add a layer to their version to make it act in the same way.

Can't think of another game that has aged as badly and dramatically as Goldeneye tbh. A 10/10 when it came out (except if you're edge lololol) and now I suspect unplayable garbage for anyone coming to it new and fresh. I think you need strong nostalgia for this one. Shame the tarted up remaster wasn't allowed to come out.

Come now Mr Gerbik, do you expect me to play Goldeneye without twin stick controls?

You're not wrong. Playing it now and it feels really bad. The aiming mechanic is something that I just don't think works anymore.
