Having said that, in 10 days I'm away for two weeks. Not the best timing for me!

Would be ace to have you involved again. Being away for a while shouldn't be a problem; we'll do something similar to last time, where your best seven finishes out of 10 counted towards the final league standings.

There's really nothing like playing live, it's great stuff.

Who knows, if this really takes off again and enough people are interested maybe we could kick off the rllmuk Poker Tour for live games a few times a year. While I don't want to step out of line, if people were interested I'm sure Commander Jameson would be up for holding the London leg; he hosts regular small-scale home games for rllmukers, but he also organised a three table affair at his gaff a few years back that loads of forumites attended. Would be ace to do something like that again on a semi-regular basis around the country.

As for the online games, it's great to see that so many people are potentially up for it. Woo!

Ace idea that. A Rllmuk Poker Tour would be awesome.

How soon do people want to start this, then? I know that this week is a perhaps little late notice for a first official match or whatever, but we could always have a fun knockabout tourney wed/thurs night if people are interested, as kind of a practice run.

Yeah, i'm up for this. Practice run (or very small buyin) would be a good idea, just to suss out the system.

Aye, I'd be well up for this too. Let's do it tonight! :(

Also: I messed up the Doodle, vote-for-the-day thingy. I thought it was asking us what single night was best, and so I only picked Monday. Pretty much any night is good for me.

Glad to see the uptake in interest for a mixed-game league. I'd be strongly in favour of having them not be free tournaments, but I can understand if people would prefer to not have to pay.

Would gladly be up for it, be nice to play some new faces live, learn peoples games all over again. If we did any up in north west, I would gladly put a couple of people up.

Haven't had time to fully read the thread so far, but in response to Billy's PM - yep, I'd love to restart the old poker tournaments.

I used to have great fun playing with you guys, so it'd be cool to do it again....I'm totally out of practice though!

Great to have you back on board, Stifler!

As for a practice game for the online league, that sounds like a very good idea. I'm unlikely to be able to make it tonight/Thursday, but by all means go ahead if enough people are around. Failing that, maybe over the weekend?

I'm v busy over the weekend, due to birthday, but I could do a quick run either tonight or tomorrow if people want? Just to suss it out as much as anything. I don't really have to be around to play it, I only need to set it up I guess.

Perhaps we should make a sticky which can have all the relevant info in it, things like the password, tourney name, league positions, playing times etc.

I may have an issue. I don't own a passport or a driving license, therefore at present I cannot make a deposit to PokerStars. I have emailed them to see if there is another way around it, just have to play a waiting game now.

Eh? I definitely didn't need a passport or driver's license when I opened my account. How are you trying to deposit money?

Maestro / Neteller / Bank Transfer, basically they are saying it for every option, even if I click VISA

I did, and I know other people who recently signed up who have been asked to. Must be fairly recently added requirement.

Perhaps if you send them bills or other things to identify you... But you're looking at a fair while for that to allow you to deposit. I've heard you can put any driver's license/passport number in - they don't check I don't think. But it's a little risky, the last thing you want them to do is suspend your account with loads of money in it.

I emailed them to ask what I can do, I am on the electoral register, something betfair used, so seeign if that can help.

Edit: Just got this

Stars really are big on the whole age thing. I got pissy after a really bad beat started talking a bit of light trash, and someone asked if I was 12, to which I replied "Yes I am 12 years old and playing poker online", obviously as a sarcastic joke. He called a moderator, who then banned me from chat and I had my account frozen until I scanned my driver's license and sent it to the verification team

One of us can just transfer the money to you so you can play if you get stuck (I am willing to do so).

I have deposited on there in the past so I assume they will let me again.

Can you do balance transfers? Couldn't find where to do it.

Can easily be done too I suppose, can paypal the money or Bank transfer or something. Will see what I can do 1st though :(

That should be fine with me, sounds like a plan.

My affiliate account has now been approved, so I'll post the details up tonight for anyone who doesn't yet have a PokerStars account. As I say, I'll gladly kick a big portion of any referral payments I get back to rllmkuers.

Looks like I won't be playing ^_^

Hello Bradley,

Thank you for your email.

I'm afraid we cannot accept the documentation supplied as things stand.

We would need to see an official Deedpoll document. We do not doubt what

you are saying is correct, but we do require proof, and I'm afraid the

Deedpoll document in its current form is not something we can accept

because it does not look legally binding or official - again, we are not

making any firm judgement in that respect, but we would hope you can

provide us with something that is officially stamped or on headed paper.

An alternative would simply be to obtain a valid Passport and send us a

copy of that.

Many thanks for your ongoing co-operation, and I look forward to hearing

from you.

Kind regards,

Ashley

PokerStars Verfication

MY RESPONSE

Dear Ashley,

I don't understand, that is the official deedpoll document that was signed by the solicitors and provided to my Mother at the time of name change. That is the only document that we have for the change of name deedpoll. As I have previously stated, I do not own a passport neither do I own a driving license. I can send you the front page of the document that contains the solicitors name, but again it isn't officially headed.

Unfortunately, because I have chosen not to lead a life of travel, nor have I decided to learn to drive I cannot provide you with what you require. One would suggest that this will mean you will not be requiring my business, I am saddened by this, but I obviously understand your situation.

Also I am not happy that you suggest I obtain a valid passport. How dare you suggest I spend out a rough amount of £75 just so I can play poker on your site.

Kind Regards

Bradley Marsh

That really is ridiculous. I'll gladly transfer you some cash on there if it means you'll get to play, but I'll obviously understand if you'd rather not give them your business after that. Hopefully they'll show some common sense when they receive your reply.

They refuse to budge, they state, that despite that being the only document I have for the Deedpoll it isn't official enough. As I said, can you do balance transfers on there? Might be worth only doing enough to play one game incase they suspend the account. I can then just throw the money over via paypal.

Hello Bradley,

Thank you for your email.

My Manager was of the same view that the document does not look official.

It may have a Solicitor's name on it, and as I explained, we do not doubt

that you are telling the truth. However, I'm sure you will realise that

when we receive a Birth Certificate, they are in a standard format and we

can clearly tell whether the document is authentic.

With a Deedpoll certificate, the document provided cannot be compared to a

standard format, and does not appear to be as official as some of the

examples I have viewed in dealing with this query - which are on pre-

printed forms, and stamped.

We cannot accept any documentation that could conceivably have been

created by the player themselves - and while we do not think that is the

case here, we cannot stray from any rules or procedures in any instance.

In terms of obtaining a Passport, that is indeed something for you to

decide - apologies for any offence caused. I was using that as an example

and pointing out that it does have more uses than merely verifying your

PokerStars Account - which a Driving Licence does not.

We really do not want to lose your custom. I will find out if there is

anything else we can do in this instance to enable you to verify your age.

If there is you will receive an email with the details, in due course.

Kind regards,

Ashley

Tempted to tell them to come round my house and meet me.

Sent this...

Dear Ashley,

I would appreciate it if you can find another way around this. I can understand why you have these rules in place, but just cannot think of what else I can suggest other than a pokerstars representative meeting me in person, which is obviously preposterous.

I fully apologise for the tone of my last email, however as you can appreciate this is rather frustrating for me, as I have accounts with Betfair & BWIN (formerly pokerroom), the reason I have signed up to Pokerstars is because of an excellent reputation and I was looking forward to being part of some private games that friends are due to host with yourselves. I may now have to miss out on that which is a crying shame. As I stated though I apologise and understand why you have these restrictions.

I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Kind Regards
