Anyone had time to check KD2? It’s a big step up on KD1 for me. Not the biggest fan of Hit-Boy but the relationship between him and Nas has clearly matured. The track with Lauryn Hill  is nice. There’s an Em and EPMD feature also.

Thanks for the heads up on this, just listening now.

In general, it's a bit hit and miss for me, some good tracks some not so good.  Doesn't matter how many times I hear it, auto tune ruins tracks for me, I'm too old (set in my ways!) for that shit!

Lauryn Hill track, EPMD, Death Row East and a couple of others are nice though.

Good to hear Nas, been a long time.

Agree with you both wholeheartedly. Although once the dust settled I was left with a Nas album which had 5-6 tracks I’d return to the and the rest I didn’t care much for. Maybe that’s objectively a failure, but it ended up exceeding my admittedly low expectations.

i enjoyed Death Row East, Rare, Store Run, Moments, Nobody and Nas Is Good. Overall, I was surprised with what HitBoy gave us with these tracks.

Far from my favourite project of the year (what a year it’s been!) but noteworthy nonetheless.

My son walked up to the band at a park while we were on holiday this week and they very kindly let him get involved…

The band Fellowship of Groove were tremendous guys - and that mix of Afrobeat and rap worked out brilliantly.
Obvs I’m biased, but given no prep, his first time on stage, and never having even met the band, it’s pretty awesome….

Ok how about this dope track

That was awesome. Obviously there’s some old-school heavyweights on there, but in terms of cadence and tempo, yeah spot on. Thanks for that!

I’ve been really busy recently throwing myself into a second age of music discovery, much like the one that rllmuk ignited in me back in 2005 or whenever it was. Back then, just like now, it was largely driven by a discontent and dissatisfaction with mainstream music. I’m totally open to anything new and fresh that you can recommend. Ideally, I don’t want trap beats and excessive overt Autotune, but anything else is fair game.

So far this year, I’ve listened to 160+ fresh albums that dropped this year, and yet you managed to throw me a track I’d totally missed. Which is why I fucking love this place and soooo yearn for it be like the good old days. This place was a hotbed of excitement and enthusiasm for music, without you guys, I’d never have become a long-term hip-hop fan.

I’m trying to give something back but unfortunately my posts in here get very little engagement.
