Revealing a little more about the new spin-off. Starts shooting this summer for release next year.

The new spinoff will feature two young female protagonists and focus on what the network said in its official release “the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it.” The hook, according to the description, will be to see who remains good and who turns evil.

I thought they were already doing the first generation to come of age in the main show.

Are we talking good as in "worth watching this again" or good as in "not as shit as it usually is"?

Finally got round to watching the whole second half of the season and I'd say worth watching. Penultimate episode is excellent, not felt like that since the Negen -Glenn battering.  Overall, I didn't shout at the TV anywhere near as much as I have in the last few seasons, so that's good!

The comic is ending!

Like so many characters within its pages, Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard’s The Walking Dead is dying abruptly and with little opportunity for closure. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Wednesday’s issue will be TWD’s last. Issue no. 193 will be an extra-sized edition that wraps up the saga of Rick Grimes and the rest of them. To throw fans off the scent, cover images for weeks of future issues were created.

“As a fan, I hate it when I realize I’m in the third act of a movie and the story is winding down,” Kirkman wrote in the ending pages of The Walking Dead 193. “I hate that I can count commercial breaks and know I’m nearing the end of a TV show. I hate that you can feel when you’re getting to the end of a book, or a graphic novel. Some of the best episodes of Game of Thrones are when they’re structured in such a way and paced to perfection so your brain can’t tell if it’s been watching for 15 minutes or 50 minutes … and when the end comes … you’re stunned.” Some people like knowing when something is going to end, and like traditional story structure because that shape is pleasing to watch play out, but to each their own.

Ending just shy of 200 issues, The Walking Dead is ending one issue past the shocking death of Rick Grimes. “The Walking Dead has always been built on surprise. Not knowing what’s going to happen when you turn the page, who’s going to die, how they’re going to die … it’s been essential to the success of this series,” Kirkland wrote. “It just felt wrong and against the very nature of this series not to make the actual end as surprising as all the big deaths … from Shane all the way to Rick.”

Will they just wrap it up the TV show or carry on? I take it they're still quite far behind the comic, so there's still plenty of material?

It's legit.

It's not uncommon for shows to stream before their normal TV airdate these days. Recently, half the US shows I watch which are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday are available on the seas over the previous weekend.

Renewed for season 11. And Maggie will return.

Gimple was asked for anything about the Rick Grimes movie and he just said "Ninjas". So maybe there will be ninjas.

And they have a trailer for the new spin-off, but still no name

This is like televisual Stockholm Syndrome, I want to stop watching and get away from the captor but I cant.

I'm with this till the end of the line.

I totally agree. I promised myself I was out, but then went and tuned in again this week. Starting off with that school production of 300 though, was almost enough to have me reaching for the off button.

Like they really need to go through all that shit when the zombies move slower than a toddler with its feet tied together. So fucking stupid. And my hatred for Carol, Michonne and cowboy hatted girl (Rick must have had a funky sized head because that fucking hat fits everybody) grows more and more.
