They've definitely made this series a bit easier than it used to be. Much more general knowledge based. Which is great, as the utter loser contestants seem to struggle with anything about popular culture. They really make this show, as they plumb the depths of freakish, ugly, nerdiness to the extent that, in comparison, the average Rllmuk poster seems like... I dunno, Zac Efron?

I say that as someone who got a higher score last week than an entire team, so I guess that makes me incredi-geeky too.

5 points to Mr. "I spend my lunchtime hitting Random Link on Wikipedia". I've done that.

Also - and I'm not proud of this - when the real ale team appeared, I thought to myself "they look like a sideways Latvian flag". God, I'm glad there's a show aimed at people as sad as me. Yeah, let's get a fucking team together.

Yeah me too, mind I'd have had to wait for the second clue (split-s) to get that particular one.

Good link but man, some of the answers are crazily obscure - like you know the link but the answer is so complex.

Given the example on one of the quizzes you'd think they'd be a littler easier with the main answers, but they name four characters from The Godfather, but that's not the link - the actual answer is Don Corleone's Offspring! Another is four words preceded by the word American, but it won't except that, you have to put American and number of _____!

[still addicted to it thought]

The site has a few more in that category, but all under different 'Connect Four' 'Famous Four' style names.

The good ones throw in some red herrings, and I always seem to fall for them - the Godfather one had me trying a few combinations.

I think it was his air of superiority. I thought he especially came across as a tosser when he started an answer by berating the other team - "Well, as a lifelong Smith's fan I'm offended you thought <insert name> was a member"

um...

What's wrong with that?

I reckon we could easily get a team together. Perhaps round up anyone interested and then we have a quizz off / use the online Connecting Walls to whittle* the contestants down.

*not as in the game show.

We'll be accepting applications for series 5 shortly, so as a first step anyone can email contestants@presentable.co.uk for an application form and it'll be sent to you when it becomes available.

I'm guessing this is David Bodycombe, one of the question setters for OC...

I enjoyed the 'High-brow' celebrity edition of OC this week. :)

Need to catch up with that on the iPlayer...
