Feels like I've seen the entire movie after watching that trailer

It appears to show the final killing blow

When Rambo has a few bullet holes in him and you think he's probably dead, I bet that's the final killing blow to the bad guy.

A more age appropriate Rambo would actually be very watchable.

Rambo suffers a Vietnam flash back while angry at the neighbor kids for walking on his lawn and goes on a killing crazy rampage in suburbia.

Brian Denahy's son is the chief of police in whatever town he lives in.

This thing writes itself.

It does look good, but one thing that worries me is that they haven’t used clips of First Blood for the flashbacks. I thought this was a sequel, of sorts, to that and they were rightly ignoring Rambo 2 and 3? I want the more grounded feeling of the first (blood) rather than the comic book action hero shenanigans of the sequels.

So this is out now, has anyone been to see it yet?

I'll have to wait until next week as my wife's away on holiday and I'm hoping it's not a PG-13, meaning I can't take my 9 year old son with me.

It's got a 34% from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes, yet 85% audience score. Not sure if that means it's going to be shite or awesome (or both).

This is a bit rubbish. But also gloriously gruesome, to the point where it feels like a horror film where we're supposed to support the slasher. That aspect is admittedly entertaining.

It's definitely not a pg-13 lol, one of the most absurdlly violent films I've seen recently.

I enjoyed this as it's pure 80s style nonsense and gets straight to the point very fucking quickly. The film is a brisk 90mins long and the last third is what Rambo fans want to see.

I especially loved how angry John was in the last third. Every single kill had a real oomph and nastiness to it, Rambo reaaaaaally wants to hurt these people and it's great.  There's some very silly plot armour in there (Rambo gets beaten up and they don't kill him ? Fucking Cartels ? C'mon Son.) but we all know it's just bollocks to let Rambos demon out again.

It's definitely the worst Rambo film (fuck you I love Rambo 3  ) but I still found it an entertaining 90mins albeit very slight, it wouldn't look out of place as a Netflix Original, especially as the direction is nothing special. He really should have stopped with 4 though, as well as Stallone getting too old now the ending to that was fucking perfect.

As already iterated it earns it's 18 rating, though CGI being present did dampen a few of the kills a bit.

Home Stallone surely?

Saw it this evening. As far as Stallone's recent output goes this was one of the better ones, but it was a better Stallone movie than a Rambo one if that makes sense.

The last twenty minutes were pretty exciting, but it was so dark and poorly lit (though admittedly that could have been my screening) it was hard to see the traps go off which should have been where most the fun was.

Rambo 2008 was far superior. Fuckin love that one.

I thought this was totally abysmal. I had incredibly low expectations and it surpassed them easily.

All the writing is horribly on the nose. It may be  just a rote setup for the carnage to come but I thought even the big climax was devoid of any tension, drama or style.

Just a bland procession of men being slaightered.

There is a supercut of Rambo films at the end of this (inexplicably including Last Blood which you've just seen), but it's a stark reminder that at least 2 of the preceding 4 were just better than Last Blood and the other 2 were more entertaining.

If you're looking for a more grimly violent/rapey version of Home Alone or Taken, then Last Blood is the film for you.

At least Last Blood doesn't take anything away from the original being one of the greatest anti-war films ever made.

Saw this last week. Quite enjoyed the trashy, crass Reagan-era 80’s movie beginning, but by the end it was obvious they were working on a shoestring. The last act was rubbish. I mean it was all rubbish, but the last act wasn’t even offensive, trashy rubbish, it was just boring.

Unforgiveable.
