Well played lads, dont forget we were playing against top of the league who have been winning by 7 or 8 goals each game...

we are still the most successful against them this season!

We need more practice so ill set up a doodle to see when people are available...

Yeah, practice is a cert man.

If the Manager or the rest of the team aren't going to say it, here are the problems I saw from last night: (bare in mind, its easier for me to say as I was an outsider coming into the game)

The defence were the best part of our team last night in both games - (considering we still conceded 8 goals) and aside from the second half of the second match.

My first line probably shows how the rest of the team were in comparison.

Too many 25-30 yard passes were being made, forced to the forwards

Not enough movement off the ball

When the ball got up front, it felt like the two forwards and the attacking midfield just went it alone against four Spain defenders

The finishing in the first game was disappointing - there was nothing to finish in the second game

We can't rely on free kicks/25 yard strikes to win us games

The right and left of midfield were non existant

....please add any others.

But baring in mind - this was against City - best team in the league:

They scored 8 goals - 3 lucky finishes, 2 wonder curlers from the outside of the box, one gift from my throw in and 2 others.

When they got up front, they had at least 6v6 in and around the 18 yard box

The first game 4-1, flattered them

The second game, we were lucky it was just 4-0

Both games - the majority of shots on target were inside the box

Luckily (hopefully), the worst is over in terms of team quality.

First game, we played well.

Second game was typical of this season - completely different! I hardly touched the ball up front the whole game. The formation was all over the place too - 4 up top, I ended up as a midfielder to cover a lot of it, making defensive tackles too.

Having said that, they also played much better in the second game.

Well played last night Athletic, you were unlucky not to get anything out of the first game. You completely outplayed us for the first half and it must have been gutting to go in 2-1 down at the break. Great movement for your goal as well.

You've still Rovers to play, so a top 2 finish is still something to aim for. Good luck for the rest for the rest of the season. Hope the manager gig goes well Nath!

well i was actually going to say something, but you seemed to beat me, it wasnt as bad as you said, and in terms of the finishing, i agree although you could have had a couple of decent long rangers but refused to take them... i agree we cant rely on 25 yard free kicks and shots to win us games, but if the opportunity is there and you are in space go for it and hit it across goal, this might lead to us getting a lucky bounce and being able to tap it in, or win us a corner if it doesnt score... and in terms of Right and Left midfielders being non existent, it was because they were controlled by Chris in the first game as an ANY, and when he dropped out they were AI, and in the second we had Pompey controlling one, the AI posistions them, so when we have a full team that wont be a problem

anyway whats done is done, and we need to look forward to our next games, which are against United and i will send out a doodle when i get home from college
